Will Buggy Get a Weird Power-Up?

I firmly believe that Buggy is the dark horse in the One Piece race.

A dark horse is a previously lesser-known person, team or thing that emerges to prominence in a situation, especially in a competition involving multiple rivals, that is unlikely to succeed but has a fighting chance, unlike the underdog who is expected to lose.

Don't confuse Luffy or Teech as the Dark Horses. Luffy is the current underdog, Shanks is the veteran, and Teech is the playmaker, while Buggy is the dark horse.

Now... the only thing that Buggy really hasn't succeeded with yet is actually becoming a powerful person. He's weak or at least everyone believes he is. However, it's possible that he will undergo a weird power-up. Namely, an awakening of the Chop-Chop Fruit which has opposite effects to Luffy's fruit. Oddly enough, that also implies that Buggy's fruit may have special qualities to it like Luffy's does. This weird power-up may be just enough to make Buggy a serious contender with the other emperors.

Or is he going to remain weak forever? This I refuse to believe.

I doubt he'll receive any sort of power-up like fruit awakening or learning haki, I think Oda will keep leaning on his immunity to swords/cutting attacks at key points as a way for him to keep running around in endgame involvement
I think his new yonko title is gonna get him out of a bind in a possible encounter with marines at some point though, seeing how both Luffy and Blackbeard needing clearance to engage was a little important after the new emperor reveal
But who knows? He could get a Nightmare Luffy styled PU to get himself out of a jam toward the end, but I doubt it. He's probably just gonna clown around until the bitter end

He technically did get a power up, a massive boost in morale.

With Mihawk backing him in strength ~ Crocodile backing him in resources ~ Bumped to Yonko Title.

I don't think he'll get a strength boost to keep up with top tiers or anything like that but his personality and poise is whats alluring.

Buggy aint weak. Dude has canon balls that could destroy multiple buildings with ease in his body. That same ball could defeat awakene zoan users just as Gear 3 of Luffy from Marineford which was worth 400 million berries.

He might be glass canon, but he splitting makes him a hard target.

Buggy could be worth from 300 million to 500 million which is a decent level for new world captains, veterans of Yonko, etc.
