But I don't really know what's the alternative for him. We know so little of the Lunarians and of King before the lab that it is hard to speculate.

It seems Zoro cut off his arm as well, and he's gonna fall to Onigashima like Queen. So maybe they will stay together and Queen will give him cyber prosthetics (like Frieza after Namek)? But then what? King's last decades have been dedicated to Kaido, and he's about to die.

Hard to guess, but very interesting IMHO. I really wanna see what he does now.

Queen will easily betray king . He will join world govt in heartbeat to avoid jail time. Capturing king will introduce Vegapunk.

Don't look at the lightning, look at the position of the arm compared to the position of the elbow. They are not aligned properly, like the arm just got cut and his now free falling separately. But we will see at the start of next chapter anyway.

The arm position looks fine, it is the actually grip of the sword which is very long that sent me off track since I thought it was the arm. So yeah, I think you're right. @Jailer

King falls in the same line as WW, they want to get rid of WW, for King to perform more experiments on him, they didn't plan to release him at that time, it was Kaido that set him free.
