Yup, DFless BB was top 3 in WB pirates alongside with DF users such as Marco and Jozu,
And DFless BB scarred Shanks.
Also, Garp trained his punchs by destroying mountains for Chinjao, and only used CoA to fight Chinjao to show his punching skills. That was mostly Garp's punching skills, physical strength and CoA, wasn't using his full Haki.
That means Garp's Ad.CoC is also boosted by his punching skills and physical strength. That last attack in the chapter 1080 not all about his Haki, combination of all.
Stronger physical strength can also boost his attacks, similar to Burgess sending Galleon Lariat flying by also using CoA.

My favorite scenario:
- The fight between BB crews and Garp begins
- After some time, Garp manages to blast Blackbeard's crew away
- Blackbeard sneaks on Garp, does a Vortex to pull Garp, and land quake punches. Garp is mad, thus BB vs Garp officially begins. After days without stopping, the battle between these bosses climaxes in a barrage of CoC kamehamehas vs Gura Gura punches
- Garp realizes that Blackbeard's wounds and damages...heals over time on such a great speed. Garp's health already depletes over time, but BB's body already goes back to full health. His stamina and vitality is seemingly unlimited, and his organs always regenerate at a faster pace compared to any damage Garp inflicts on him.
- Vasco Shot reveals that Trafalgar Law has been killed. His fruit was eaten by some Grand Fleet member, who is then being ordered to give Blackbeard the procedure of Immortality Surgery, without knowing death to the user as the consequence. This causes Blackbeard to have extreme regenerative ability, eliminating Yami weakness.
- Blackbeard releases his advanced technique of Awakening: Feast of Singularity. It literally crushes and absorbs Garp's body, killing him. Apparently, this technique allows Blackbeard to absorb raw strength and even haki from anyone he crushes.
- Coby manages to escape, but by this Blackbeard had killed two of Luffy's important persons, Law and even Garp himself.
