Why do I think Kidd will return

First of all, Kidd's defeat was a direct callback of the SH in Sabaody. Both crews were "eradicated", that didn't stop the SH to make a comeback after the reality check

Oda often implies parallels between a DF's powers and its user (Luffy will always bounce back, Buggy falling appart at the smallest inconvenience, everybody fall in love with Hancock, etc). The nature of Kidd's fruit is magnetism but as he stated quite a few times in the Wano arc, no matter how many times he will get beaten, destroyed, teared appart, he will always assemble himself back, the power of magnetism

The guy has been beaten up all over the New World (Beckmann, that one BM commander, Kaido). In Wano his crew was taken as prisoners, his partner was the slave of Orochi and himself was in prison with Queen torturing him to break his spirit, but he never lost his will.
He didn't give up against Kaido, neither in prison or against BM's hocus pocus and he was rather ready to die fighting than surrender when Kaido supposedly defeated Luffy. By his choices and conviction, he showed one of the strongest will of the serie, comparable to Luffy if you ask me

He will come back for his objective, becoming a "big shot"
During the whole wano arc, Oda was often making allusions about Kidd wanting to be a big shot, he targeted yonkos more than anyone else:
He wanted the glory of defeating Kaido
Kidd claiming to Luffy and Law that they will never be a big shot because of their stupid games
Hawkins made allusions about him finally being able to surpass a yonko
When he was having headache against BM, he was thinking about how he FINALLY got an opportunity of taking down an emperor
During his fight against big mom he was taking about tearing her from her throne (in comparaison, Luffy who claimed to fight against Kaido to be the PK)

Yes Kidd want to find the One Piece but that is the way he choose to follow on his objective of becoming a "big shot", just like the One Piece isn't the finallity for Luffy it is a mean to accomplish his secret dream

Kidd still have a role to play in One Piece, his character isn't accomplished

On a side note, Jinbe's sharks team didn't find any rest of the Kidd pirates, they might have been washed away to Elbaph's beaches

Kid will come back stronger than ever. You are not ready :kata:
Don’t know what the lads saying he will defeat Shanks are smoking is like they are not paying attention to the story.
The Kid Pirates are the only ones who have defeating Shanks- and Shanks specifically, not just the yonko in general- as one of their top priorities. Not even BB, whom everyone is predicting to fight Shanks, has shown as much interest in beating Red-Hair as Kid does. Oda has laid the Shanks-Kid parallels on thick, with them both being redheads with only one arm and scars over their eyes. He made the KP and RHP confront each other not once but twice. It all means something.
I hope not. Kidd taking down Shanks at this point would be downright awful and I have a feeling its gonna happen. He's not the type of character I want beating Shanks.

You lot man 😂
I get you wanting Kidd back in the story which is fine it’s a character you like after all ^^ but this delusion that he’s going to defeat Shanks after getting a second bite at the cherry & failing miserably even when the narrative clearly says otherwise is not healthy. The Kidd Pirates are not the SHs.

I’ll ask this question again, what exactly does Kidd defeating Shanks (I.e Shanks of all people lol) bring apart from stoking y’all’s ego?

So in the climax of the Yonko saga, after Oda took out Kaido & Linlin and then establishes 4 main contenders for the Yonko title with Luffy & Buggy taking up Kaido & Lilin’s places (leaving Kidd out btw 💀) and then further thins the crop by having Kidd & Law bow out to Shanks and BB respectively. Oda’s somehow gonna write Kidd back into the story to beat Shanks (his favorite character btw 💀), same Kidd that already lost to the Red Hair Pirates once before and had this so called mission against Shanks only to lose disgracefully without even as much as sniffing Shanks air 💀 & then make him compete for the one piece again coz ‘Kidd’ 😭

I hope so. His design and powers were great. He gave more of a "real pirate" vibe like BB, Shanks and OG Roger (not the Oden flashback).

It would be a shame for him to just die like that. It would sadly be true to the unlucky tale of the IRL Eustace Kid, who really didn't live a good life.

Plus, y'know. Jika.

Kidd will return yes but no way he will touch shanks

Lets Look at Kidd's track record...

Early on from the moment hes introduced to the story we quickly learn his target is Shanks...Although, we learn this without learning the reason..

He eventually loses his arm in a incident with the red haired pirates. We later learn Benn Beckman was the one who took his arm and never got to meet Shanks in this incident.

Later on..he and few others become the first of the worst gen to meet kaido when he lands. Instead of giving up and surrending to Kaido, he and Killer accept the fight to the death vs Kaido. Kaido himself respects this will and decides to spare them in hopes of breaking their will and having them join his crew. Similiar to Luffy's first interaction with kaido...

Later on we learn the results of the fight vs Kaido. Kidd has been destroyed alongside killer and his crew. And they've also been sent to Udon prison to be tortured.

Eventually we learn Kidd is planning to fight Kaido again once he figures out a way to escape. Something to remember, is that, Kidd was going to do this regardless whether luffy/law would join. That is the type of will Kidd has now.

Now obviously we know what happened at Elbaf, Kidd, his crew and his ship utterly destroyed by Shanks and the Giants.

If you think Kidd is coming back and not going after Shanks...you are mistaken..

There will be two things on his mind when he makes his return. His crew & how to get back at Shanks.

And interestingly oda has alluded to this. Why did Oda design the two characters so similarly? Both have red hair, both missing an arm, both have a scar over their left eye....and people think there is no connection?

Additionally, another interesting dynamic is the opposite ways Luffy/Kidd view Shanks. This will come into play at Elbaf.

And even looking at the way the Elbaf incident played it out, it seemed intentional from Oda to not prolong the incident for some reason. He easily could have had Kidd meet BB or Shanks block the DP and continue the fight. Instead the potential battle was ended instantly.

If you compare the path/trajectory for Luffy vs Kaido and Kidd vs Shanks its literally identical.

And why do you think Oda had Kidd first mention the Burned man? It's a way for him to come back to the race.

And as I've said many times on this forum BB is endgame for Luffy/Imu, not Shanks.

Kidd will meet Shanks a 3rd time and win.

Kidd at best will play small role in Shanks defeat where BB will be primary one. Kidd didn't even took his revenge on Kaido and changed to fighting BM.
