Questions & Mysteries Will Luffy be MIA in Elbaf?

Wouldnt getting all those germa abillities without any drawback or losing emtiones look unearned? :josad:
But i think he will mentally suffer from it, the path that always Oda goes for sanji. Rather than physical pains/sufferings.
Sanji's powerup is intrinsically a cheap unearned one anyway. Now it's already too late to change it, unless Oda decides to make Sanji lose his power up with the excuse that the awakening of his genes wasn't a one time definite thing, but something whose effect could disappear once Sanji sleeps, and Sanji's eyebrow going back to normal may be an evidence that such is the case. So Sanji will have to earn a new power up in the next arc. I don't think this is very likely to happen though, even with the eyebrow as an evidence.

Leaving aside this possibility, I don't see how Oda could write it in a way to make sense for Sanji to suffer some relevant drawback from now on because of his power-up, since it actually increased his regenerative ability to the point of allowing him to recover all his broken bones instantaneously, and he has already woken up and is active again after fainting anyway, so now it's too late.

But yes, I agree; Oda usually chooses to make Sanji suffer emotionally.

I agree with this part of your post
Going a bit further, I would really like to see an entire arc in which Luffy practically does not appear, so the rest of the crew have to deal with the villains in the island on their own.

And I don't mean some mini arc with joke villains, like Duval, or just a few minutes to show what is happening with each main character in their own situations, like happened before the time-skip as they got separated.

I mean a serious long arc with a proper villain pirate crew, which could be in Elbaf, for example, and Sanji and Zoro would have to beat the top enemies on their own, without Luffy's help.

I think this would be great because Luffy is always the one who gets by far the most screen time in all arcs, so having one arc in which he doesn't appear would be a nice opportunity for each crew member to shine a lot more than usual, besides having a lot more interactions among themselves.

Just too bad I don't think Oda would have the courage to write an arc without the formula used so far.

I think the arc in which Oda strayed from the formula the most was Punk Hazard, in which Sanji got to fight the strongest opponent in the arc instead of Luffy, though Law was the one who finished the job of actually defeating Vergo, while Luffy just fought the second strongest opponent. This was already nice to see, but it was just one exception, and Caesar Clown was still the main villain of the arc despite not being the strongest.

There has to be some major drawback from gear 5th. we saw when he snapped out of g5 he looked like an old lady. will his body take time to recover or will his Zoan freaking rehabilitate him.
Imo Luffy can be MIA in Elbaf only if he solos Kaidou since the start, so now i don't think Luffy will be missing in the next arc.
