This seems pretty unlikely, but I just can't help but think about it.
Vegapunk's message is going in a direction that I didn't really expect. I won't spoil it, but Vegapunk will be talking about some very important topics coming up.
And, I'm not sure if Luffy will stand for it.
I feel like Luffy's stance on "spoilers" regarding anything involving the One Piece Treasure is pretty well documented. Just look back at chapter 507. Luffy hates spoilers. Luffy does not want to be TOLD what the treasure is or it's history. He wants to find it himself.
And here's Vegapunk starting to talk about a subject that could very well lead to "spoilers" of that nature.
So, could Luffy actually end up being the one to prematurely end Vegapunk's broadcast before we learn anything revealing? Instead of the Marines, or the Buster Call, or CP0, or even the Gorosei stopping Vegapunk's message....could Luffy just decide to do it himself? Because no spoilers MEANS no spoilers!
And, I mean, with Luffy's "Toon World" Nika powers, I feel like he very well could find the Broadcast Snail and end this message pretty quickly. I think Luffy's physically capable of doing it. He probably doesn't even need to actually hurt the little snail, just snap off the little antenna on it's shell or transform it into cake or something.
But, Oda wouldn't do that, right? Not after the last 7 chapters of build up? Right?! Not when we're THIS close to learning something new...RIGHT?!
Except...it would be kind of funny. Everyone just being stunned that Luffy would just stop the broadcast to keep the One Piece Treasure a surprise. Everyone making some classic Oda face together.
Plus, if Luffy did end the broadcast early, that would give everyone in the world reason to think he did have something to do with Vegapunk's end. It would be a way to set the entire world against him. I mean, from the rest of the world's point of view, that's the only reason Luffy would stop the broadcast. There's NO WAY someone could be so selfish as to keep the truth of the history of the world secret just so he could keep his "present" at the end of his journey a surprise for himself...right?
The entire world AND the audience would all be upset with Luffy all at the same time. Even the other Strawhats would probably be upset with him. Robin alone would probably beat him to a pulp.
I don't WANT this to happen. I'd be very annoyed if it did happen. Oda has been drawing this reveal out for SO LONG that I really want to finally get into the meat of it. I don't even think it's particularly likely to happen. It'd just be too cruel for the audience that has been waiting for the past three months for the countdown and build up to end. But...I could see Oda doing it. Just for the trolls.
So, maybe I'm completely off base with all of this. But, what do you guys think?
