BB is a "D" just like Luffy is a "D". Shanks' beef with BB goes much deeper than that

Luffy's thing is more about JoyBoy.
And Rocks's thing is more about imu than roger. He was set up as rogers rival but he clearly is IMU's enemy with imu personaly coming down to kill him.

I don't think he is anti roger or even a dark reflection of roger. That's bb Luffy dynamic. Rocks - roger is more like luffy- kid dynamic.

So will he fuck up with Xebec's character and suddenly make a joke out of him? How do see his journey ending?
It's just the way people see it lol.

Oda created legends like Oden, whitebeard, Roger.

And he didn't ruin any of them.
Legit none of them.

All of them, cared for their Family/Crew.
All of them, were strong as fuck.

When it comes to personal opinion and agenda people will start hating them. It's as simple as that.

Most of the people only like him cuz he's is strong. Which is fine. But those who disagree with that saying that's just not the only thing about him.

I better see senor pink > Xebec as likeable characters if strength doesn't matter to them.

Xebec is just another Madara/Hashirama kind of situation. Liked for strength only.

When characters like Obito and Tobirama has much deeper personalities.

Make Itachi a fodder and make him sacrifice his own clan through some means and people will shit on him.

People love Mihawk/Yonkoj, because they are purely about strength.
People love Admirals, they got much deeper personalities and ain't shallow or simple.

Guess which fandom is bigger.
:kayneshrug:

If you like a character because he is strong, admit it. There's no problem with that, but at the same time your hate for certain character would also mean that character contradicts your agenda lol.

Even as a zoro fan, I have no shame admitting Sanji is better written character probably in the entirety of strawhats.
Zoro is just a symbol of strength and order in the crew.

Problem arises when agenda clashes lol, you can't like a character their fans push their fav > this certain character.

Then it becomes entirely powerscaling debate which had nothing to do with their character to begin with.

Dying Rocks lore dumping to Roger followed by a speech to all the crew that he declared disbandment of Rocks Pirates and ordered them to leave before he go all out with Imu which caused the island to disappear.

Ala marineford style WB’s speech.

Injured Kaido who refused to leave gets pulled back forcefully by Big Mom.

Place your bets.
Xebec so far is arguably one if not the best character post TS.
Almost every fandoms love him or respects him which a feat by itself. Even admirals die hard fan seems to like him.

Compare him to Oden for example who was supposed to be that likeable charismatic guy, but ended up as a naked dancer who accomplished nothing.

But we know something happened to Xebec and he was removed from history. And this is Oda we're talking about.

So will he fuck up with Xebec's character and suddenly make a joke out of him? How do see his journey ending?
If you look at Kaido and what he said about death completing a person

And the fact that he has respect for Xebec

It should tell us that however Xebec died, it made Kaido elevate him in status, even decades later

Oden abandoned his country twice.
  • First when everything was fine.
    • When he left with whitebeard, Wano was doing completely fine under Sukiyaki
  • Second when Orochi took over.
    • Oden only came for a brief return. He came to leave toki behind as she was sick. He had greater goals to push at that point. They were the closest to the history of the world.
    • Figuring out what other Kozuki didn't. Knew his purpose as a Kozuki, not as a future shogan but there contribution towards History and how they preserved it.
    • Skill passed down the clan, for no apparent reason? Sukiyaki never utilised his Ponelglyph reading skill. Nor will momonusuke some day.
Whereas Xebec was doing almost the same thing.
  • Made a crew for his own benefit and terrorist activities.
    • He has killed civilians, kidnapped kings. He is himself no better than a CD in those regards. He only cared for his own family. Selfish, yes, and some people defend it. But you don't March a group people to death for your own benefit. That's a plain shitty move.
    • This was fine if it was coming from someone like Kaidou or Doflamingo. But Xebec isn't seen in that light. He is seen as a good guy.
  • Pushed them all into God Valley for his own benefit.
    • Admitting last chapter that they have nothing to gain here. He still didn't tell that he is here for his own family not his crew or crew motives.
    • The confession itself came at a point where imu is standing right in front of them.
    • He used the chaos and risking their life to save his family. If Xebec have told them about it, Atleast some would have still followed him. And at that time it would be completely fine. But he is himself acting like a dick.
    • On top of that he is giving up on his dreams, his clan what they stand for. He wasn't there to save his grandfather or mother. But just Teach and eris. He failed to protect them in the first place. That's why they were captured.
Oden didn't even know what orochi or Kaidou were doing in his second visit to wano.
Toki herself asked Oden to leave and continue his journey.
Oden wanted to stay, Toki who came from past, came for a reason.

Oden is loved for abandoning his family and country?
How does that work.

Oden and Xebec are two sides of a coin.
  • Oden
    • Created his own vassals
    • Cared for them
    • Loved by his people
    • Didn't wanted to abandon his family. He was asked by toki herself.
    • Seen as hero.
  • Xebec
    • Created his own crew
    • Didn't care for them, he would rather choose Harald over his crew.
    • Hated by his family. Rocks crew hated each other. They were only bound by Pirate laws of Davy back.
    • Intentionally led his crew to death, when types whitebeard would have helped him if he knew the truth.
    • Seen as a villain.
In the end both of them failed.
hate for Oden only remained because he outlived his stay in manga.

- Xebec was kept as mystery compared to oden.
- Yamato being forced down on us oden 2.0 made it worse.

Legends like Kaidou Look up to Oden and Xebec in the same light in terms of monstrosity.

For me both of the characters are great. I like both of them. Both of them supports my agenda. Atleast I'm honest enough to admit that.

Admirals fans are into this because he actually killed an admiral(Nameless and irrelevent at that, It doesn't hurt any of the current Admirals.), so they portray that as the strongest feat in the series. Because that supports their agenda. They over blowing xebec out of proportions.

He is great, strong.
But so is oden, to the matter of fact, he is more successful than Xebec.

- He acted to save his family when he came back. His vassals supported him.
- Danced naked for his Vassals, which xebec led to death.
- Both of them lost in the end.

Liking Xebec more is just recency bias.

In the end both of them are great character.
For me Oden wasn't ruined like for other here.

The difference between Oden and Xebec is that Oden is supposed to be a hero, Xebec, is self admitted (he wants to be king of the world, thats like text book villain motivation out of every manga), a villain

Xebec is way more selfish than Oden, but the story doesnt potray xebec as a beacon of good. Xebec even killed his relative without much remorse this chapter, like morally Xebec is obviously a way more evil character

The difference to Oden is that he is on the clearly the 2 most good guy pirate crews in the story beside the SHs, WBs and Rogers, but he is an dumb asshole

This would be like if Kizaru at the end of egghead was in the narration and story potrayed as flawless agent of justice instead what we got

Oden is a unlikeable character because the story tries to potray him good with the whole country even crying at his death, a situation he caused in the first place anyways (the rule of kaido) because he wanted a adventure
