Am the #1 Usopp fan on the forum so it took me time to come to terms with this but ...

Can we, like...stop predicting the death of every protagonist for a little while?? Nothing Oda has done outside of Marineford (including the ongoing version 2.0) should seriously imply that Usopp, Jinbe, Sanji, Chopper, or anyone currently sailing with Luffy is going to kick the bucket before reaching Laugh Tale. Even if he’s mentioned in the past that it could happen, his plans often go awry in spectacular fashion. If Ace is instructive of anything, it’s that even the characters he DOES kill won’t stay dead, so I’m not gonna believe this until I see it

The point remains that we as an audience (and Oda as a writer) haven’t been able to move past his influence...Usopp’s exerted enough through the context of the story that if he were to be killed off, it’s not like we’d stop seeing him at any possible juncture, so why even bother? Just to further throw Luffy into despair for not being able to protect those close to him? He’s already considered a quasi-Emperor, what good would it do to use a friend’s death to boost his power level again?

Usopp should not be offed in my opinion. It is likely that he is just not going to die of a natural death as well. These are suppositions in that we don't possess the same degree of knowledge Oda does about the future of the series, but based off what occurred so far and likely hypothetical scenarios, nothing suggests so far that our man is going to be lifted out.

I'm not a fan of any of the heroes dying and I don't think Usopp will die. One Piece is pretty much full of adventure, action, and this is not much of a drama adventure-action anime where you would expect a certain character to die.

Tontatta already have a new God that shall be never forgotten until the entire race goes extinct. So yeah, pretty much it I would say. This time it would be the human race as a whole to remember him for the rest of "eternity".

Sometimes I think of how Oda sensei even magically allowed the SHs the capability to hear the voice of the Going Merry and be in contact with the ship in order for Oda to save them from the Buster Call. It would be a shame if anyone died when even such PIS, albeit beautiful one, occurred.
