Questions & Mysteries Will we ever see anyone dominate gear 5?

Kaido did it for a bit, not counting Blackbeard due to Yami advantage, I'd say Akainu and Imu will probably dominate G5 in a fight.

Yeah Kaido just doesn’t have that many lethal attacks

His slashes and magma dragon form are the only things that can do serious damage to Luffy

Someone like Akainu, Shanks, or Mihawk would do much better even if they lose in the end imo

even someone as durable as king or big mom
a thunder bagua is no joke

recall it put luffy to sleep pre awakening
luffy due to blunt force resistance
is the only one eating them the way he did.

Somehow blackbeard or Shanks will. I don't think Luffy will seriously fight akainu. But g5 is endgame people will only be able to push it so far.

We still don't know if I'm is a combatant or not but he might have the key to nearly beating it.

That ship sailed.

First, Luffy is 2nd or the strongest in the verse right now + Toon force as his peak, with him being the warrior of joy. He is simply made to clown his opponents.

To dominate G5, one needs to be totally impervious to the toon force. I will not be surprise if CoC allows that.
Therefore I guess that someone with a CoC strong enough can resist it.

The other possibilities is that Oda introduce a power or someone that can counter reality warping.


And I will not be surprised if there is a G6 incoming

The moment Luffy awakened, His CoC surpassed Kaido's CoC.

Kaido was even shook by it in chapter 1044.

Anyway, in Road to laughtale part 4, Oda states Luffy's CoC surpassed kaido's.

I think Luffy still has Gear 6 to pull out. And that will be needed against Imu and Blackbeard

Gear 1 - All the opponents up until Alabasta
Gear 2 & 3 - Lucci pre time skip, Pacifista
Gear 4 - Doflamingo (Crocodile retcon, Moriah without Nightmare Luffy, Enel without Fruit hax)
Gear 5 - Kaido (Big Mom, Akainu)
Gear 6 - Blackbeard and Imu

So yes, BB and Imu should be above Gear 5 forcing Luffy to go into the hidden 6th Gear.

Gear 6th luffy comes to reality and screams at oda to end the story at once and give him a rest after 25+ of work.

Imo Blackbeard and Shanks will dominate G5 in some way at first half of the fight, while Imu will dominate G5 overall during the majority of the fight until Luffy find another powerup
