I think it's about time this series got a thread here - and maybe some fans as well!

Art and story are done by Hakuri (same author who created One Room of Happiness), the main character is Nona, a witch born in the world where witches and mages and anyone associating with them are persecuted, imprisoned, tortured and killed.

This dark fantasy manga is full of unease and suspense, the main characters are flawed yet they make you root for them.

It has 11 chapters so far, all available on the official site, the first chapter can be ready here - https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1027102

Also, the first two or three chapters are quite long, the intro arc is already over, so there's enough content for you to decide if you like it!

I can relate, I rarely start reading something new these days unless it's finished so I can binge read it. This manga caught my attention tho, and I decided to give it a go while waiting for OP to be back.

Well, this manga is fairly dark so far, although the relationship between the two main characters is quite wholesome so far, might help mending broken kokoros.

It's one of the few new mangas I am currently reading.
It has potential and so far it's good and I like it.

Nona and Mira are also good written characters.

I don't know how popular the manga is so I hope the manga doesn't get cancelled after chapter 19 :josad:

Ohhh great to for find someone who is already reading it! I also hope that it won't get cancelled any time soon. Given how fairly fast-paced it is, I am hoping for the best, as it has potential to last for at least 100 chapters.

Assuming you're caught up, do you think Belator is somehow related to the mages organization or is he just a lone atoner?
Also, that guard that the girls fought to get out of prison seemed like a dead witch, do you have any theories on that?

New manga hardly get popular before they hit 2 or 3 volumes. But I am optimistic that Witchriv will make it through. The timing with the WHA anime adaptation and Witchriv second volume should kinda fit?

It's a good one for sure tho.
The mangaka is also kinda known, so maybe it'll help. I doubt I would read Edens Zero if it wasn't for Rave Master and Fairy Tail.

It doesn't even need to be 500+ chapters, I can see it land somewhere around 200 and be good. Let's hope for the best!

What I think about the first question.
I think Ralouds parents or one of them was a member of them. I assume that Belator was the one who killed them? Or captured them? He was once a mage hunter so I think he hunted them and after he killed the father/mother or both of them he found Ralouds who was a newborn or kid and felt guilty so he chose to hide him and left the Bureau of Magic. Or one of his parents begged him to raise him? Anyway I think something happened why he changed his mind and raised a mage instead to kill/capture him. I bet it has something to do with Ralouds parents or maybe grand parents. So I don't think he is a member of them but he has some connections with them and I also think that the compass or what the thing really is, belonged to one of his parents and has maybe something to do with Ralouds magic?

And here the theory to the second question.
That with the witch/mage, I believe it has something to do with experiments. Maybe the mages they captured were made to some dead slaves or something like that. But I don’t know the reasons why they should do that. Maybe they want find a way to revive humans? And they use the mages as experiments for that goal?

Either that or maybe some kind of curse? They called it magic tool but who knows? I don’t think that it’s only a magic tool, it could be a curse or they use dead mages for some crazy experiments or for some other crazy reasons.

I Would not be surprised if the leader of them is a mage too or a witch. Maybe this mage/witch hates other mages/witches for some reasons, because it’s strange that humans hunt mages/witches because they can use magic. The humans can use magic too, with the help of magic tools. So the magic reason is not the real reason why they hunt them, I think there must be another reason.

It also looks like the Bureau of Magic hides the fact that they use magic with the help of magic tools from civilians?
What do you think? About the lock mage/witch and about Belator and Raloud?

Do you mean with "WHA" Witch hat Atelier? Was an anime for the manga confirmed?

Nice Avi btw. One of the best characters from the manga.

Yup witch hat atelier is so far. In april, next season, the anime will finally debut. It was already announced over 1 year ago, but until 2 months ago or so we had no clue when it will air.

More and more shifting towards the new dawn of the manga industry, with more fantasy, mystery and slice of life.

Aye Amo <\3 I am an anime only, but she and Guita are already like daughters to me. Love them alot.

I'm on my phone, so let me just put the whole answer under the spoiler for the sake of others.
I like you theory on Raloud and Belator! I also thought Belator was responsible for Raloud's parents death somehow, either directly or indirectly. And then yes, he got crushed by guilt and took in Raloud, but it's very difficult for them, and Belator has to manage somehow Raloud's need to use magic, while keeping it a secret that the boy is a mage. I also think that Belator knows a lot about Quovelta, but doesn't have a direct link (so Raloud's parent/s may not be involved at all).

>>>It also looks like the Bureau of Magic hides the fact that they use magic with the help of magic tools from civilians?

Yes, absolutely agree. Bureau uses a hell lot of magic and reminds me of Soviet NKVD, like we use everything we persecute for. And lock witch seems like an inhumane experiment, they managed to retain magic and break the will, but at the cost of life of the mage. I suspect there's either a different type of magic like curses and Bureau has those mages (think like JJK has sorcerers and curses, or like in Mistborn you have allomancy and heruchemy (hope I didn't mess up the names tho).

Its not called WitchRiv Hence why we all can't search it since Official English is Nowhere only Official Raw, but this is Fan Translations. Its called メリリララリリ
Sorry for Late Response i got Work to do and a deadline lol:GarlingChamp:
Thank you, I've checked it out! I actually like the serialization more, and the fact that every witch/mage has a specific magic instead of Jack-of-all-trades kind.
And I like that Nona actually has a normal mom.
