With One Piece going on break what are some good WEBTOONs or Manga to read?

#22
I’ve read the following:
One Piece (obviously)
Hunter X Hunter
Bleach
Naruto
Chainsawman
Demon Slayer
My Hero Academia
Black Clover
Kingdom (current)
Vagabond
Solo Leveling
The Ranker Who Lived a Second Time
Jungle Juice
God of Highschool
Juitutsu Kaizen
Ordeal

That’s not all of them but it gives an idea of my tastes. Please recommend some manga.
1.Asura the venom dragon
2.The northern blade
These are the only two things I like and can recommend to you. The story telling is relatively good, better than most mangas.

I tend to read more martial arts themed webtoons/manhwa so most of my suggestion are gonna be in this range
My personal favs are:
- Legend of the Northern Blade
- Volcanic Age
- Yongbi the Invincible (*wasn't completely scanlated :catsweat: but one of my personal favs)
- Ruler of the Land
- *Breaker (1st Season) -> Breaker New Waves (2nd Season) -> Breaker Eternal Force (3rd Season)
  • Breaker is amazing manhwa but didn't finish so just a heads up in case u do wanna give it a shot.
- Dokgo/Tong Series (Themed around school gangs)
  • Reading Order:
    Dokgo -> Dokgo Rewind -> Tong S1 -> Tong S2 (Classified) -> Blood Rain.
*Dokgo 2 and Tong S3 (Vanity) are still currently being scanlated iirc.
- Red Storm
- Sunken Rock (this is a manhwa and not a manga iirc...moderate amount of ecchi but fights are insane)
- Path of the Shaman
- Murim Login
- Doctor's Re-Birth
- Nano Machine

Some others that are not "martial arts" themed per say but have awesome fights and really intriguing stories are:
- The Beginning After The End
- Dice
- Omniscient Reader's Point of View
- Magician (don't think I finished this but was lit)

Some manga recommendations:
- Sidooh (One of my personal fav manga ^^. Already finished but iirc it's still being scanalated)

Might have missed some but enjoyed all the of the above and prolly ranked the manhwa/webtoon bit in order of how much I like them.
*The majority of them are 10s for me in all honesty and the weakest amongst them is prolly an 8 at worst imo.

Don't read anything else. You are already on the right path.

Wow a Yongbi reader! Have you finish Gosu (Yongbi's sequel but with different MC) yet? I cant find further chapter of Yongbi after Yongbi defeated that demonic lightning swordman....

I definitely recommend Gosu and Return of Mount Hua Sect if you haven't read them.

Yh...shame the scanalations just abruptly stopped scanalating after that fight:feelscryingman: but manhwa is amazing regardless & the fights are insane:steef:. Personal fav is Yongbi vs Goo Hwui😂:finally:. Goo Hwi is fcking awesome lol
And yh I kno Gosu ^^ but been reluctant to read it coz it's the sequel of Yongbi:catcry:. It's the webtoon about the chubby dumplings Yongbi looking dude right? 🤣
Will defo read Return of Mount Hua Sect ^^. It's pretty high on my reading list :p

I think Gosu is awesome, the authors havent lost their edge in twisting the plot around and portraying meaningful dialogue exchange and progressing the plot. It's better to read it blind since it has the same red-herring style with Yongbi.

The earlier arcs are very sharp, fresh, have great storytelling going back and forth to each reveal. It went real great until the second last arc imo.

A lil warning tho, the final arc feels exhausting since the writer has a lymphoma since then, so the final arc consists only of battles and battles and final battle before the manhwa finally concludes lol.

But overall Gosu in an excellent manhwa. The art is sublime, the combas fun and explosive and fresh (and they're large-scale as well), also the fights are filled with meaningful plot and storytelling...a worthy sequel of Yongbi imo. It's easily top 3 shonen manhwa. Since it's completed, it's consistently high-quality in art, combat, plot and atmosphere, and it ends with those qualities - tho declining - still in high note.

---

If you haven't read Bastard (completed manhwa as well, thriller) you should. But i have a hunch that you have read it.

Reincarnation of Suicidal Battle God and Return of Mount Hua Sect are the next big two things imo after Northern Blade goes on hiatus imo.

I remember the remnants of the previous manhwa wave, Tower of God still wanna be ambitious but become an extremely dragging story and lost its purpose in the way, while Solo Leveling become Gary Sue party. Currently Nano Machine imo is already on the edge of becoming dragging as well even with just 112 chapters. And Disaster-Class Hero already heavily flops in my opinion since even with clean art, they utterly fail to establish a proper storyline, since the MC is a Mary Sue loved and hailed by everyone just like Solo Leveling MC cough cough.

Thank god Bastard, Sweet Home, Gosu, and Friday Forbidden Tales are finished while still extremely good.

.
It´s a manga but plays in Korea.
I might be remembering it wrong but i think it was published by Japanese publishers, has a Japanese main artist, but assistants might have been Korean or something.

@OP: I think you have enough recommendations, if not, quote me.

If you're a bit of a hipster like me who is always looking for indie titles - something not published by any publisher, then there is something I am personally enjoying at the moment.

It's called: "Haven: Revery of the Fallen."

It's self-published on a website called Comic-Fury and I know their author also publishes it on Deviantart. It's still quite new, but it gets updates 4 times a week.

It's a magical post-post apocalypse where the world has recovered from a rapture where Elves appeared for reasons we currently don't know and began slaughtering defenseless humans. It revolves around a girl from the countryside who is suddenly recruited by an angel to join a military academy when she comes of age.

Right now there is a lot of build up and potential mystery - and it's obviously to an astute reader that things are not entirely as they seem, which as One Piece readers, I'm sure we all appreciate! There isn't much fighting, but I'm enjoying it quite a lot actually. I'd recommend giving it at least a look.
