Seems mahito was waiting for Yuji to die before being reborn. Otherwise yuji would just spawn kill mahito. Poor guy does he not know Yuji is basically immortal now?
Also, seems the Kalyan in the ship taught Dabura about domain expansion. I guess Kalyans are similar to Tengen. Maybe Tengen is a Kalyan and Sukuna is a simurian descendant. They both came here from simuria?

Here's the sequence. Maru is bummed out after Tsurugi died. He's not in the mental state to give Dabura info telepathically. The Kalyan and his eye are specifically focused here.
To me, it seems the Kalyan either learnt of DE from Maru's mind and gave that info to Dabura, or that Kalyan is called Maruru as well.
Regardless, that Kalyan did something.

- his mind has been going light speed (metaphorically) since he started taking the fight seriously
- he thinks back to Maru (this is the important part): either Maru has barrier techniques or Maru learnt about them and told Dabura at some point or DEs are part of Simurian sorcery anyway and their ship is somehow connected to that concept (thus Dabura thinking of Maru as an inspiration for this moment)
But like why?
Dabura is enjoying his fight against Maho and is thinking of maho. Why would he suddenly start thinking of Maru and barriers all of a sudden?
And if Maru told Dabura before, then he'd already have the idea of it. He wouldn't just act like he JUST figured it out then and there

Because he needs to end this fight fast? And needs a sure fire way to do so? Hence why he thought of Maru, his connection to that concept.

lol never forget sukuna needed megumi to tank IV in order to hang, then needed maho to bypass infinity, then was forced to use his 1 time get out of jail free card, then was unable to cast DE, RCT for 90% of the fight following.....
