More scum in the game as in numbers? I don’t think so. It will be proportional to a specific fraction of the total player base. So being in a multiball doesn’t mean there’ll be more scum as it’s more player number dependent.
But multiball, by virtue, obligates scum to scum hunt more than Town read to prolong their longevity by hunting enemy factions was my reasoning. So early town reads being town indicative, was due to the fact that objectively tying yourself to a player not from your faction, when he could belong to an enemy faction by town reading him, gets you fucked down the line if that player flips scum. This is why I believe that scum would rather scum read more than Town read early on. Sure they can town read, but logically, I think scum reading ensures better promises further down the game in a multiball.
Your second point tells me that you think Scum wouldn’t kill off Mango if he was scum/suspicious which is what I’m saying. Since a few players were suspicious of mango, scum wouldn’t gain much from killing him.

If that's the case I disagree, always better to kill town early
