I had an additional condition on my 2nd role in Weeb's and I would've very much prefer to not have an "Eliminate all threats to Town" wincon as a supposed indie. I was even green and everything.
Regarding the friction, I understand the origin of it, but nonetheless ultimately is how people decide to view it, it is no different than Scum claiming Town, which should have some scrutiny I agree.
However and the most important point is and giving this game as an example
If Ratchet had claimed Town and proceeded to do all the play he did so far he would be Town locked no doubt. But because he said indie it is disregarded. Which I can approve of the different treatment witg all rest being the same.
For the rest of your point. It is of my belief that that by itself doesn't invalidate the point I made previously. However that's just my view of it. I very much prefer having indies in Mafia games but I concede the fact that it's just my personal preference here.
Scum claiming town is an act of intentional deception lol, but thats what they have to do
I dont mind having all varieties of indies, thats not the point im making. My point is that when a host designs the game with all of these moving parts, friction is inevitable and presumably by design.
Like in ratchets case, yes at face value he has been working to towns (my) benefit. Therefore Ive had no hostility toward him. That doesnt mean I just assume hes my best friend forever, and if he makes moves that I perceive as hostile, as he has this phase, then I will retaliate. Regardless of how much work hes put in, thats always going to be the calculation because I have to assume he could be hostile at any moment. The caveman who heard the rustling outside his home but chose to do nothing went extinct, and he who was careful lived to fight another day.
Case in point, you. You have masqueraded under the supposition that you would convert once ultra is gone. Thats fair enough on your part, and I was unwise to assume you were telling the truth. If I felt I could get away with killing you now, I would, but I have to be mindful of a ruse. See what I mean?
