That shit never looked strong. It just attacks internally. Since weak trio already is supposed to have weak external(aside from Chopper) I don't see much reason why this would make a difference.

If anything Chopper could surely tank it.

Not really. Strength varies. A hakied finger flick with it is still considered an attack.
Even so, Monster Chopper is a decent at tanking. Him taking a hit wouldn't be too surprising.
