Right now, there is not enough of a paper trail to believe one would be better than the other.
What exactly has Akainu been responsible for in the last 2 years?
- Akainu moved HQ to the other side of the Red Line facing the New World.
Okay. Has acting more confrontational toward the Yonko led to anything? Has Akainu declared war or captured any of their major subordinates? Doesn't seem like it. It seems like the status quo that prevailed under Sengoku. Aokiji would not move the base, saving money I suppose, but otherwise nothing changes. Akainu can more easily send forces to the New World, which is where more help is needed due to the danger of the Yonko. Aokiji has to go to the trouble of sending marines over the Red Line every time, much slower response rate to the NW.
- Akainu recruited Fujitora and Ryokugyu as new Admirals.
This is just filling empty positions. They seem like good men, Fujitora confrontational toward Akainu. Ryokugyu won't start a fight between Admirals in Reverie just because Akainu told him to. Aokiji most likely approves and hires the two. Aokiji should have a better relationship with the two, but what the consequences of that? Higher morale boost for average marines? Does Fujitora actually capture Luffy and Law because Aokiji said so? I doubt it. Hard to see the changes here. Aokiji likely directs these Admirals better, but I doubt any Yonko are getting captured due to that.
- Akainu sent Fujitora to manage the chaos in with Law and Doflamingo in Dressrosa.
An admiral was sent to deal with a complex situation that involves former World Government employees. Does Aokiji send a different Admiral? Unlikely. Does Aokiji scorn Fujitora after the chaos of Dressrosa and ban him from Marine bases? No. So I guess Fujitora returns back to HQ instead of wandering off under Akainu. Fujitora ultimately ends up in Reverie either way, that's his goal in joining to begin with.
- Akainu sent at least one Admiral (Ryokugyu) to be on guard at Reverie. Fujitora tagged along.
Would Aokiji protect Reverie with a third admiral? Seems like overkill. HQ doesn't seem so safe with only Akainu and some old semi-retired folks. Maybe Aokiji leaves it all to Fujitora and Ryokugyu ends up elsewhere. Now
that is trouble. I don't think Fujitora alone can deal with 4 Rev commanders, if the CP0 don't back him up then Aokiji might end up with a seriously wounded Admiral. Aokiji might possibly handle this worse than Akainu.
- Akainu has not sent any Marines to Wano
Akainu is the confrontational guy here, and he's not doing anything. Aokiji similarly backs off from Wano.
- Akainu has send forces to capture the Warlords after the Reverie disbanded the organization.
This actually seems like an order from the World Government. The kings made the decision, the Gorosei must have approved, and they passed it down to the chain of command for Akainu to arrest these pirates. They seem to know where all of their locations are, even Weevil who was traveling in former WB territory. Why not just fulfill the deed, get the jump on them, and capture them ASAP? Aokiji may oppose using up resources like this when two Yonko are forming an alliance, but he may not have a choice. Aokiji may be forced to the WG's bidding. Akainu didn't even want to break up the Warlord system, if he had a say in all this then the government-backed pirates would remain and no marine would be hunting them right now. Until we know more about this, I can't imagine Aokiji handling anything differently.
That's one for Akainu (moves HQ to New World), one for Aokiji (gets along with New Admirals better), and the rest cannot be determined in a conclusive manner. Akainu gets the W because I'm not sure what Aokiji and Fujitora having respect for one another actually amounts to. At least Akainu is in a better position to send Admirals and Vice Admirals to check the movements of the Yonko, who are a major threat to the stablization of the world.
By the way, in all this I just assume Akainu disappears from the face of the planet should Aokiji become Fleet Admiral. He might remain a Marine, denying a spot to a good man like Fujitora or Ryokugyu. He might quit and become a Neo-Marine like Zephyr, chasing down pirates through vigilante justice. The world with Fleet Admiral Aokiji is decisively worse with a free Akainu running around not chained to a desk and enacting his justice across the world. So I just decided to ignore what happens to Akainu here to keep it fair.
