Questions & Mysteries Would Luffy stop fighting?

Let us say luffy was fighting the main antagonist of the arc like kaido, along, etc and they took a random civilian as a hostage do you think fluffy would stop fighting and let him self get it?

He may be hesistant but I doubt he'd completely surrender Luffy can easily get a hostage out of that situation

The plot will save the hostage from the villian. Just like how Doffy had Viola as hostage and almost had Rebecca cut her down with parasite.

Depends on the hostage. Random dude? Probably not. Someone who gave luffy food or someone luffy cares about? Probably.

With Oda as the writer Luffy would likely never stop fighting.

He'll have Zoro/Sanji interfere or have Usopp/Nami create some sort distraction to give Luffy an opening.

Or the typical, creating a scene to generate tension then have Luffy blitz the opponent and save the hostage.

Luffy doesn't want to be a hero, so if it was a random person, no, but if it's someone he cared about, definitely.

Though, now that I think about it, the whole Nika thing changes this, given that Luffy's set up to be the messiah that saves and protects everyone lol.

That happened in volume 1. Koby was made hostage while Luffy and Zoro were fightong Morgan.

He kept fighting

Helmeppo got Coby as hostage at Shells Town and Luffy just punched him in the face.

Crocodile had Cobra as hostage and Luffy kept fighting.

Enel got Nami as hostage and Luffy kept fighting.

CP-9 kept Robin as hostage and they kept fighting.

Luffy punched a fucking Tenryuubito (although I'm not sure if he knew the true implications of it).

Ace was a hostage and he kept fighting.

Royal Family was a hostage of Hody Jones and he kept fighting.

Law was hostage of Doflamingo and he kept fighting.

Momonosuke was hostage of Kaido and he kept fighting.

He doesn't stop!

Villains always go for the kill. He’d block/intercept the kill shot, maybe take some damage. But then he’d separate the hostage & keep fighting
