Controversial Would pein capture Kyuubi if Minato didn't interfere

Was he? He had enough chakra to revive an entire village
Tendo Pain was beaten by a simple Rasengan and he definitely wouldn't have the power to face an enraged Kurama with just one heavily weakened body.

Yes, Nagato did have enough chakra to revive everyone but that literally killed him (to be fair, this jutsu kills the user in general) and his Chibaku Tensei couldn't even stop 8 Tails Kurama.

It's implied Nagato could increase Chibaku Tensei's size to contain the 8 Tails, but I find it hard to believe a sentient Kyuubi would be captured by that technique. A few bijuu bombs and it's destroyed, then Deva Pein is more or less shit out of luck and fodder to the Kyuubi.

No, a conscious 9 tails wrecks pain before he has the chance to use chibaku tensei

we’ve already seen the tendo struggle to push back the 6 tails

funny thing about this it’s that it was half the kyuubi. The full thing would Nuke pain out of existence

That was the implication I got from the flow of the narrative, Minato was a deus ex machina. Honestly, it still makes sense that he could have sealed Kurama, he had enough chakra to revive the entire village and was prepared for this very moment. With information we have from the final war (and power inflation of course) then no. Kurama should be able to bomb his way out, but if we’re strictly talking about narrative then I think Pain would definitely win if Minato wasn’t interfering.

Pain was beaten by single rasengan and naruto using clones was able to withstand shinra tensei showing nagato has weakened a lot. He would have lost.

Good analysis tbh
