There have been like 35 VAs introduced, rule of thumb is that when a specific group tend to have dozens of fighters the average fighter tend to be shit (for balance purpose), so while I hoped for better I'm not surprised at how shit they are in this arc either
Still, it's crazy that Vergo and Smoker are still the best non-Garp (who is more of an admiral out of prime) VAs we saw post-timeskip, and Smoker jobbed three times in the same arc so this says a lot about how much of a disgrace the average VA is.
