General & Others Would you be disappointed if Oda reveals that D=Dawn?

There’s only so many words that can begin with D, it should be something the fans have suggested. Be it Dream, Dawn, Devil, Dragon (Monkey Dragon Dragon lol), a symbol of the half moon, I don’t think it can be something that totally throws the fanbase. Would be cool if it did, as long as it makes sense, but I do expect it to be something that makes us all think “yeah, that’s about right.”

A bit like Luffy’s true dream. The reactions tell us it’s something childish. I’m not expecting anything else.

Highly doubt it has a verbal meaning. It's either a random letter whose meaning non-Ds theorized about yet meant nothing or a drawing of a smile, a straw-hat or a dawn (but not the word itself).

My quick theory: it's something like the cross the Straw Hats drew on their arms to identify themselves in Arabasta: those who joined Joy Boy (the D, it isn't a bloodline but a group and what Ace did to Sabo is how the actual Ds came to exist) marked themselves with a D that represented the smile of Joy Boy, which is why Ds die with a smile.

Can Oda disappoint more than he did on Wano Arc? I don't think so but would never doubt it.

D being dawn doesn't make sense and you are completely wrong about him spoiler it.

People say that D have double meaning because Luffy and Teach are opposite are also wrong.

D are the enemies of Tenryuubitos. Both Luffy and Teach are that. Just like Roger and Rocks also were(although Roger much likely helped them. And so did Garp).
