Just watch the Grandmaster in action as well as a few other peculiar things and your experience with the manga will turn positive if you'll be processing it the right way. Assuming you are being honest.

Yes it seems like that. BUT...

I would argue that WCI was actually similar to Sabaody in a way that they faced a force so strong that they literally can't do anything against it (BM x Kizaru) and one force strong enough to be defeat(but wasn't, that would be Katakuri x Pacifista) but they succeeded. Then Wan(war arc) would be Marineford but they succeeded too(so far illogycal).

Is kind of forced, yes your comparisons are way better.
