Character Discussion Yamato has too much going for her to not be a SH

Its not even like that, because Vivi outright could never be a SH. She always had a duty to her people, even moreso now that Cobra is dead.
Yamato is in a Jinbe situation.
What I'm guessing will happen in the yamato cover story:

- she wants to join
- Luffy gave her an invite
- she can't join due to some sort of conflict that will eventually be resolved

- She rounds up remnants of the beast pirates, specifically the tobi roppo and weaker members. Beats them into submission, and subsequently becomes Daimyo of Kuri.
- other Daimyo come into power(scabbards, Hyogoro, maybe even Sukiyaki), returning the samurai's strength to pre-kaido times
- SHGF members come to wano, as it is said that Luffy made it his territory. Yamato jumps aboard Hajruddin's ship and they head for Elbaf.

Yamato was just a character created to sell merch and was never intended to be a SH.
Luffy offered a bundle deal to Yamato, Kinemon and Pedro and she declined offscreen to join.
There was a character that actually asked to join the strawhats in wano and got the YES (no buts, no if you give up what you're doing or whatever). Someone that was promised to join as soon as she finishes her training (just like Coby trained for 3 months and was a badass) just like Jinbe had to finish his deal with BM: Tama.
Also someone that was hinted since before the time skip, had a better relationship with Ace and Luffy, actually created a connection with the crew and is the MVP of the raid.

Yeah Luffy asked her to join, but it's still not the same situation like Vivi.
Vivi was actually with the Straw Hats throughout the entire Alabasta Saga, traveling around with them and interacting with them as well.
She actually felt like a Straw Hat, Yamato doesn't feel like that at all. Her only role was in the Wano arc, and the only Straw Hat she really had the most interaction with was Luffy.
Honestly Kin'emon kind of had the more Vivi role than Yamato.
Why the fuck do you suddenly want Yamato to join? If Oda wanted her to join then he would have had her join by the end of the Wano arc.
The fact that didn't happen, shows that Oda has no plans for Yamato to join the crew.
Don't get me wrong I could still be wrong but for now she's not joining at all.
Also Yamato's situation is not the same as Jinbe, Jinbe couldn't join at first because he was Big Mom's subordinate during that time.
Jinbe had a pretty good reason why he couldn't join and during the end of WCI when he did finally joined, he had to deal with Big Mom's fleet which is why he couldn't go with Luffy and the others.
But when it comes to Yamato, there was literally nothing holding her back from joining with Luffy and others.
As for Vivi, yeah back then she couldn't join but this time it's different.
Vivi can't go back to her Kingdom, do you not understand that? The World Government is after her, if she goes back to her Kingdom then she is going to get captured.
Also she's not going to be safe with Morgans and Wapol for that long and I highly doubt she will stay with them for the rest of the series, but if she rejoins the Straw Hats then she will be way more safer with them than with Morgans and Wapol.
Vivi along with Morgans and Wapol are also seemingly near Egghead as well, right now Vivi has a way more higher chance of rejoining the crew than Yamato joining.
And finally unlike fucking Yamato, Vivi actually traveled around with the Straw Hats and again interacted with them. She's a character that everyone has known for a long time, her joining does make sense but as for Yamato nah it just feels forced.

The only proof anyone needs that Yamato was never meant to join and never will, is the bathhouse scene in chapter 1052. Letting Sanji and Brook have unlimited access to a character with that body type is never happening. It would ruin their gags and Oda is never going to do that. Therefore no Yamato.
The opportunity is lost. I'm sure Oda originally planned to let her join. Everything pointed to it. Then he takes a break for about a month to rework the rest of the plot, and suddenly Yamato says, for completely idiotic reasons, that she would rather stay on Wano. The whole thing seems so last minute and so bad that it shows that the original plans were different. Having Yamato join after Egghead is completely pointless. It shouldn't happen and it won't happen.
Vivi has a more important role as that of a mere crew member of Luffys.
To Imu, she is as important as Luffy, who has eaten the Nika-fruit, as Shirahoshi, who is Poseidon and Blackbeard, whose true relevance still needs to be revealed. After I saw Imu holding Vivi's picture in chapter 908, it has gotten clear to me that she wont join, since every SHP of Luffy has the same value to the general story than every other member (If you want to put that mathematically: Zolo = Name = Usopp = Sanji ...). Vivi's value exceeds that of a normal crew member, since obviously Imu does specificly include her in their thought process.
I am sure that we will see Vivi again very soon and then she will meet Luffy and everyone else again. But not as a crew member, but someone else, much more important.
