Speculations Yamato & IMU

Here's a balls-to-the-walls idea.

As many readers have noted, the OG Yonko are failed JoyBoys, each being built around a core element of JB's, only misinterpred or unattained. A "same but" blueprint.

  • WB treats his crew as family and died for them, but in doing so failed to save them;
  • Shanks is a true pirate at heart and has a similar haki as JB (who is, likely, from the same lineage as IMU), but doesn't have fate on his side, so he can't change the world;
  • BM tried to set up a utopia where everyone is accepted and can live freely, but ended up taxing each citizen with a portion of their lifespan;
  • Kaido knew that Wano was important for the Final War, but became its tyrant instead of befriending its royalty (the Kozukis are necessary allies for EOS, alongside with the minks, which Kaido copy-pasted via his SMILEs army) and instead of protecting its treasure (Pluton).
They all contain elements that Luffy has already or will shortly perfect: nakama as family, new world where everyone is free (& can eat freely), child of prophecy who defeats the devil, and friend of Wano and the Wanonese.

What I'm proposing is the existence of a further element hidden in one of the OG Yonko's backstory that may reflect both JoyBoy's own backstory and what happened during the Void Century.

What stands out when looking at the OG Yonko?

Sure, WB was likely a buccaneer, which some expect JB to have been also.
Sure, BM was born a monster of endurance, which could parallel JB.
Sure, Shanks seems to dress similarly to JB.
Sure, there is that theory that JB had oni horns like Kaido, or that perhaps JB was even Oars.

But what stands out more when considering Kaido's immediate surroundings is his family. Not his crew. His only known blood relation.

Yamato.

Why go for such a complex backstory for Yamato if it turns into a wet fart by the end of the arc?

What if it's meant to reflect something else. Something more.

On paper, this is Yamato's blueprint:

The villain's daughter grows up to idolize the hero her father defeated, and came to identify herself with his late will.
What is the inversed of this? The "same but"?

The hero's son grows up to idolize the villainesse who defeated his father, and came to identify himself with her late will.
Wouldn't this explain the entire confusion with IMU, why he speaks like a man, yet appears to be wearing a woman's body?

What if IMU is just that:

Joyboy's son, who inherited the she-devil's fruit after her natural passing (it has been 900 years since and the final battle against JB's could've left her deeply wounded), and chose to continue her will by becoming himself a devil and possessing a woman who most resembled the original she-devil?

I think it's a really good idea,
The Parallels you mentioned definitely sound like Oda's way of writing,

I've always felt like Imu look more like High Priest/Priestess of Devil Church, choosing to worship the Enemy of Joy Boy,
Which indeed sounds like opposite version of Yamato, (It makes even more sense if Imu is indeed an Umibozo, as They mean Sea Monk)
