Speculations You’ve been wrong all along — the one who killed Xebec isn’t who you think it is

Oda is the master of clues. And this time is no different — Oda tells us through Loki that the one who killed Xebec wasn't Roger, nor Garp. It was the World Government. And no, it wasn't Garling or Saturn who killed Xebec. It was someone else.

Why do you think Garp feels embarrassed about the God Valley incident? Obviously, it's because neither he nor Roger defeated Xebec. It was none other than Imu.

Imu entered the body of the Manmayer's Holy Knight girl, in the same way he entered Gunko's body. Both are Manmayer btw.

Garp meeting Imu through possession in God Valley and realizing just how fucked the WG is would be really interesting.

I think it will end up Garling, he is the only one from God Valley that is remaining and needs to be hyped up.
Killing Rocks will achieve that.
Kaido implies that pirates always abandon each other. And it's implied that the Rocks abandoned Xebec. I can't imagine Newgate running away from Garling, Roger, and Garp. It must have been something greater than them.

He said they betray eachother, and the Rocks Pirates were consistently shown butting heads and were even said to infight sometimes, with Whitebeard being the one that disliked the crew the most.
It's actually more likely that Whitebeard turned on him and made him lose hard.

Indeed, Newgate hated Xebec, but he would betray his captain?

Newgate betray his captain sounds like someone say Zoro could betray his captain

Certainly a possibility and the fact they decided to erase God Valley and keep it under wraps is further evidence of this

Yah know what

I fully agree

What if he doesn't die
No reason for Oda to silhouette this long a dead character of some old era, and it's not he's Joyboy or Imu to be revealed for later.
:hope:

So Whitebeard was bitch made? Interesting interesting. Honestly, Newgate-Rayleigh discussions need to be had. His hype is no different than Law/Kid getting hyped over Roronoa.

My only issue with this theory is that it implies too many characters would know about the existence of Imu. If Big Mom knew about Imu, does like, fucking Katakuri and pudding? Probably not, but it opens up the possibility, which is imo an issue

The world believes Garp killed him because that is the told story, the fact that Roger was involved is hidden. Garp is a part of the Marines and the Marines are a part of the World Government, there is no inconsistency here.

Garp doesn't talk about the God Valley incident because he protected Celestial Dragons and teamed up with Roger... the manga literally tells us this.
