Character Discussion You need to understand that Oda will never be able to write Zoro properly

#1
You're expecting someone who got bullied his whole life and had parental issues to write a stand up man who only wants to be great.

Zoro is the complete opposite of Oda that's why he struggles on giving Zoro his proper characterization and depth.

Luffy don't have the same drive to be the best he just wants to be free and protect his friends he don't have the intention to conquer whatsoever.

Same reason why he leans towards Sanji more in characterization and depth.

Same reason why he fumbled Kaido and every antagonist who had the potential to be great.

Yes, the man who created the most popular Shonen Manga of all time would know about following dreams, hard work and rising to the top of a competitive-- skill based ladder. He became a Legend of Shonen manga and "Conquered" it in a sense.......I mean by your standards he should be able to write Zoro the best. But this of course is a deflection made to avoid the bitter reality that Oda simply doesn't give a rats ass about Zoro beyond the fights.

Writing and is a completely different field.

You can be a loser point blank period Irl but still sells copies

So you just contradicted yourself. If you can be a loser but still be a good writer then you can be a loser and write Zoro well.
Selling copies is not equal to being a good writer....

A lot of bad writers sells copies just cause...

Donald trump has a lot of best selling books is he a good writer?

Point still stand that Oda haven't given zoro the right characterization that he needs

But we're talking about creating a story that is as successful as One piece is. You can't honestly believe that a bad writer would make a series that is consistently as successful as one piece is and has held the top 1 spot for years. But I don't understand what your point here is, does Oda need to pick up a katana and go out trying to be the best at it to write Zoro properly?. You said Oda can't do Zoro justice because Zoro want's to be great/the best and reach the top of a profession; Oda is literally exactly that, he became the best in a highly competitive business and maintained that spot for years. Oda is closer to Zoro in that sense than Sanji.

I'm talking about the mentality you don't need as much grit trying to be the best in writing...and oda never tried to be the best that's just what he loves meanwhile zoro whole thing is to be the best

Writing is subjective

Meanwhile zoro is trying to be the literally best at his craft objectively

Someone who only sleeps 3 hours a day because the rest of that time is spent on his craft certainly has grit and seeks to be the best at what he does. Are you also claiming that you have to be like a character to actually write them properly?.

Every mangaka has the same condition its a cultural thing...Japan has a huge overwork problems...lol
Exactly my point. Being a mangaka is a highly competitive arena to be in, you have other highly dedicated/ motivated and talented individuals all trying to reach the top. You have to be able to outdo them all to get to the top and then proceed to maintain it to remain at the top. On this basis Oda can easily relate to someone like Zoro.

Like I said its a cultural thing every career path in Japan have an overwork problems it got nothing to do with being the best...

I'm not arguing culture here, my point is that its a highly competitive skill based pyramid that you have to climb and that is similar to what Zoro himself is doing. That experience and lifestyle alone is enough for Oda to relate to Zoro, which you claim is what he needs to be able to write him properly.
