Character Discussion Zoro is Alpha, Sanji is an envious Beta as per the One Piece manga latest chapter

he fights every arc and Oda places him in conflicts every arc meaning his character revolves around fighting
I don't know your obsession about your made up metric, number of 1v1 won.
I disagree with it, you refuse to understand ehat i say.
But this last phrase you wrote applied to a Sanji 1000%, but somehow he is not fighting oriented.

you wouldn't know because you refuse to read what you are quoting, I made a post talking about Sanji's lack of 1 v 1 fights and then you came in talking about all this bullshit
you refuse to accept facts, that's all
he never beats anyone every arc unlike Luffy and Zoro who have major fights each arc, you will never understand because you don't understand the story or Sanji's role in it

@Gaimon The Pirate would you consider the other SHs as ''fight oriented'' ? Let's say Nami for example.
I am from phone, but apart from the monster trio, i would say:
Nami - strange place, Oda makes her stronger and stronger, yet she's portrayed more like capable of defending herself rather than protecting others. She barely Gets fights and is often portrayed running away. I would say she is stuck in a strong damsel in distress role
Usopp - spit
Chopper - Kinda the same as Nami, albeit even weaker.
Robin - is she still part of the manga? She got a fight in Wano, but in Dressrosa her role was to protect Rebecca for the latter part
Franky - i would say he is the closest to Sanji: double role, half carpenter half cyborg (fighting half). Even his dream his similar to sanji and Luffy. Fights every time, doesn't get power ups but if he does something, it is fighting.
Brook - same as robin, almost irrelevant
Jimbo - 100% fight.

So I would argue, in my view, the fighter are:
Luffy, Zoro, Sanjino, Franky, Jimbo

The substitutes:
Namizo, Chopper, Robin, Brook

Please press S to spit:
Usopp.

What do you think?

Whoever uses this word in pl discussion immediately invalidates their entire opinion.
He said 1v1 where Sanji won. As bad as it sound, but that really was Absalom before Wano.
Whatelse would a "power up" be about? Sanji also got better cooking skills from the crossdressers.
Nami got showered in power up and I doubt you would call her "fighting oriented" just because of that.
The ONLY character who has a dream revolving around fighting is Zoro
Technically correct. Luffys dream sort of implies it though as you have contenders for the same goal. Who else do you know that wants to find All-Blue and fight someone else over it?
So I would argue, in my view, the fighter are:
Luffy, Zoro, Sanjino, Franky, Jimbo
Franky certainly is not a fighter. He knows how to fight, but neither is it his main goal nor is it required of him most of the time.
Jimbe was a captain just like Luffy and a shichibukai. A position that is only about power. He is clearly a fighter even when he is also a capable helmsman.
Sanji is strong. Even in the New World he is above the majority of pirates. That alone does not make him a fighter. Sanjis main goal is to find a food source and his main job is to cook. We do not get to see much of it on panel. He still does this several times a day for the entire crew.

It all depends on how you put it. I consider Sanji a strong fighter. I do not consider him "fighting oriented". He does it out of necessity rather than being a goal of his.

Yeah but the only character whose goal is fighting is Zoro.
Buggy is gonna end up being King of the Pirates by the end of One Piece, and he is a shitter who cannot fight, making Luffy's dream not necessarily be about fighting, but more about friends.
Jimbe's dream is to have Fishmen in peace with men, so it's not his goal, nor his goal require fighting necessarily. See shirahoshi or whatever the queen fish name was.
So all this conversation to say that Zoro is the only fighter in the crew?
Snore.
