General & Others Zoro next

Which particular part vs King are you referring to or dialogue in your view did he show self doubt?
I don't know if you can even call it self doubt more like reflection analyzing trying figure out how to beat them and its always resolved within same arc. Lbino was expecting inner turmoil in zoro like sanji and lommers would be the one who forces him forge his first kokuto bro has completely lost in touch with reality

Nah oda already denied in the sbs to have any intresst to dive into pinzoros family
:josad:
I view that as teasing/hyping up Zoro's family, BUT, we shall see.

One of the reasons I'm hoping Sommers isn't done yet is because I really wanted Sommers' crazy commentary about families to lead to Zoro having a small flashback about his parents.

But there has to be a limit to how many power ups Imu can give this dude before he kicks the bucket.

Ironically, Pinzoro convinces me we're going to see this flashback, and it will be important. Such a ridiculous name for a character. I love it. What was this dude doing to people with a single pin???

Oda's saving Zoro's family for Wano's Ancient History/Ryuma stuff, IMO.

We just seen Oda show Sanji a ton of love and I’m still hopeful or maybe delusional enough to think he’s going to give Zoro at least some of the same

I’ve made multiple post on how king of hell Zoro and Ifrit jambe Sanji will become their “base” forms. And it looks like Sanji fully achieved that in elbaf while Zoro not so far

Zoro like Sanji does have a short of self doubt about himself. Sanji overcame it by learning to love himself and Zoro hopefully overcomes it by learning to know himself

Unironically Zoro being less hard on himself will make him stronger. While yes he’s confident in his strength but he’s also the first to overly highlight his weaknesses. Never believing he’s good enough or being okay at not being good at things
Made a thread about it for those that still somehow disagree

That same mindset and fear he’s not strong enough is a big reason he struggles way more than he should in dire situations. It taking Kiku’s arm being cut off or Sanji shit talking to fully push him beyond the limits he puts on himself. When in reality they should have never been necessary in the first place
Similar to Sanji I think Zoro’s defeat of Sommers will lead to multiple power ups

  1. Mental boost from the know yourself stuff and no more struggling way more than he should
  2. King of hell output becomes his new casual base
  3. Conquerors coating on his blades
  4. At least 1 black blade from killing him
Bro you literally stay yapping. We literally already seen Zoro doing KOH in base at the end of the chapter. He does his normal attacks with the Ryou and Coating now.

Unfortunately if I remember what the translators said correctly, Pinzoro is japanese for snake eyes in rolling dice. So it's because of gambling.

I do have hopes for Ryuma though, there's no way Oda mentioned it just for it to not be ever touched on again. And if he doesn't then he's a spiteful asshole and Zoro probably did actually beat Luffy in the popularity contest.

Sommers is already done.
You wish :michalaugh:

Next chapter will probably be something like "Sword and Shield" with some focus on Sanji and quite a bit on Zoro. Curious to see Sommers' armor. Then the HKs die together and we go back to Luffy (Loki) piece. Let's just hope Loki gets defeated asap so Strawhats vs Imu happens and this arc ends with a bang

With King, it's not self doubt within one's own skillset it's more of a sense urgency to figure out what King's hack was. Based off dialogue you could categorize it

With Daz Bones it was more Lack of Capacity ie inability than lack of skill or training ie self doubt due to the fact he says Ive pushed myself harder than everyone else what am I Lacking

Personally I don't want any Demon mods or family flashback. I just want to Zoro of old, work hard, train relentlessly and push forward

Though I would love a Pinzolo panel for laughs because that would be hilarious

I feel like next chapter is just both fights wrapping up. Sanji following through after breaking the armour by crushing Killingham's heart then Zoro following through by slicing Sommers' heart. Maybe Sommers gives it his all right before it's done but I doubt he pushes Zoro or causes any self-reflection.

Pull up the panel and show me where you see any inflection point of where it correlates to Zoro doubting himself due to that fact. Your quote is plural at the end where we are talking about a singular ability

never believing he’s good enough or being okay at not being good at things"
Zoro is a character that while confident in his strength constantly feels like he’s not strong enough. It’s the same with the vegapunk death situation with the main reason he was being so harsh is because a part of him blames himself for not being strong enough. It’s why he’s the first person to point out his own weakness

That self doubt is why he constantly tries pushing himself to his limits and training even when everyone else on the ship doesn’t
The man during the Sommers fight was actively struggling to see himself as a conqueror despite knowing he had it. And Zoro fully recognizing his strength and ability to use it is why he got stronger during the fight

I think that now that Sanji has dealt with his family issues, we'll learn about Zoro's family history, and his connections to Ryuma/Ancient Wano. Looks like Oda wanted to have Sanji overcome his issues before moving onto Zoro's family.
I can see Zoro proudly acknowledging that he’s a descendent of ryuma. Us hopefully getting a small speech of what Zoro knowing himself means to him

You are explaining lack of ability that's why he trains to get stronger because he acknowledges it; as opposed Self doubt is perceptual bias and psychological and emotional like the Dunning-Kruger effect

It’s not about lack of ability it’s about Zoro not fully recognizing his strength
Zoro had conquerors the whole time against Sommers but he had to fully acknowledge and accept that he has the power to fully use it. Zoro is strong but he gets in situations like against Apoo and Lucci where he gets stuck until an outside force pushes him

Zoro is the first person to highlight his failures and call them weakness even when it’s not his fault. That is a part of doubting his strength because he puts himself in situations where he gets stuck for no reason

I genuinely just think Oda panicked at how strong he made Wano Zoro and pulled the entire doesn’t know he has CoC plotline out of his ass to nerf him out of the way until stronger threats arrive further down the line.

The plotline just doesn’t make sense lmao. It’s entirely based on Zoro somehow just thinking that only captains can have CoC when he has literally zero in series reason to think that given the first person he saw use it was Rayleigh. And Mihawk didn’t say it to him either.

The only credit I will give Oda for it is that Nasjuro blocking Zoro in Egghead is actually consistent with ACoC being regens weakness.

I’m not so sure about that anymore tbh.
I initially throught that Oda will deal with Killingham faster than that but he seems to want him to be a “real fight”. So he might do the same thing with Sommers.
I will not be surprised if Sommers got another boon in the following chapters for Zoro to show why he is the sword.
Wait and see.
