People think its from Mihawk training ,oda still doesnt want to talk about it
The reality is the scar is from Rayleigh,we know zolo arrived 9 days earlier than everyone at sabaody he prob challenged ray and got the scar

Imo zoro’s scar is tied to shusui
With the blade becoming a part of zoro making him stronger. Likely due to his mastery of it during his training + his connection to its old master ryuma

Closing One Eye among Pirates (Such as wearing Eyepatch) is to prepare for Darkness,
Meaning Zoro is getting Prepared for a Dark Place

This ties to his Gag of being Bad with Directions, it has a meaning
When We entered Grand Line, it was revealed that a Normal Compass doesn't work there, you need a Log Pose
And then when SHs reached New World, it was further revealed that a Normal Log Pose doesn't work there, you need One with Three Needles

This could explain Zoro's Problem, his Mind Compass doesn't work in Four Blues nor Paradise or New World
He instead belongs somewhere else beyond this World, which is Afterlife (Hence why He is King of Hell & associated with Afterlife so much)

Being Embodiment of Asura or Nine-Sword Style User is a Reference to him being like a Nine-Needles Log Pose,
Imo this is also why Oda said Luffy, Zoro & Nami are Triggers of One Piece, and why He said Zoro was always Planned to be One-Eyed,

DF Users not being able to reach Laugh Tale is due to it being in Afterlife, not this World, and as we know, when a DF User dies, their Powers do not travel with them, They instead remain here & find a New Host, meaning DF Powers are not allowed entry to Afterlife

Once Luffy manages to reach Laugh Tale, He needs Zoro & Nami to be able to use One Piece Treasure (Hence why They are Triggers, They are Compass + Navigator) and to make sure Luffy even manages to reach there & rest of his Crew as well (Such as Chopper), Oda added Brook who have Only DF that can Travel to Afterlife, meaning his Awakening can allow Luffy or any DF User to reach Laugh Tale

So yeah, Overall i believe Zoro's Eye & his Gag with Directions & meeting Death ... etc are because He is meant for Afterlife, not this World,
And Mihawk probably saw that after spending 2 Years with him, and made him do that or did it himself

- Hanafuda who hunted ancient zoan fruits, couldn't believe Mihawk is a mere human
- He was convinced he's an ancient mythical zoan, human human type Giga
- He arrived at Kuraigana and Mihawk was busy drinking wine, so he let Zoro fight him
- Hanafuda still had Ace's daddy's PK Haki in him and with the stored haki in his blade he managed to surprise zoro, taking his eye
- In the end Zoro cut him in Two Piece with Shishi Sonson
- Since that day, Mihawk calls Zoro Green Logpose bc he only has one eye
