Speculations Zoro vs Akainu?

I was thinking whenver we talk about possible Admiral match ups for Zoro, Akainu is excluded usually. Most people expect Luffy vs Akainu due to Luffy needing to avenge Ace's death (though Sabo can also make that claim). But if we use the standard formula of Luffy fighting the leader who's the strongest and Zoro fighting the 2nd strongest, then if Imu is someone who's actually powerful in combat, then shouldn't Luffy vs Imu and Zoro vs Akainu be a possibility? Since the main enemy is the WG as a whole not just the Marines.

Not saying it'll happen but it should still be considered as an option no?

I think Akainu isnt an option since he is simply not good enough to offer Zoro a proper challenge.
He is too sluggish of a combatant to keep up with Zoro's skills.
His element is less of a cutting challenge than Pica's rocks...

If Akainu doesn't have ACoC, Zoro already is. I'm betting on Akainu ACoC so Zoro will have to learn how to deal with Magma to beat him. Oda is already foreshadowing it.


Final War is too dark yet to make such predictions. Of course 1035 give us massive foreshadow vibes. But we also have Supreme Admiral who everybody forgets about it. We have Gorosei, SSG and probably new introduct characters.

There is not an ounce of a chance of Zoro will ever even meet Akainu, forget about fighting him. Kizaru is Zoro's admiral fight period.
