With a sane mind, you be able to fight better, Katakuri stated that when using Haki and fighting. He wouldn't be in sane mind after all the events and his body won't fight the same like he wants too either. He is nerf and Zoro tied with nerf pleasure. Makes it look bad as that means if Killer was 100%, Zoro would lose to him. You can have thoughts of saving someone while still being nerf even mental.

You can never show any emotions. It can mess you up mentally especially Killer hates to smile and laugh. Kidd say so about it. You cannot stay sane over that. Look how it affects Yasu and his people for years unable to show emotion about it at all.

You are jumping to the conclusion the Killer isnt in the right state of mind of what he is doing. Killer made the decision after being tortured to be orochi's henchmen to do whatever possible to save Kidd and his Crew. Killer hates smiling doesnt mean he was mentally unstable fighting Zoro, he fought with clear intent to kill zoro and then kill hiyori and toko. Zoro's 2 and 3 sword style are much different also different when he uses Haki on his swords as well.

Do I believe this fight made Zoro look bad? Yes I do, that was the first time in the new world he fainted from a 1vs1 battle, but do I believe Killer was this weak nerf pleasure from Worst Gen after eating a smile? No. He'd wipe those guys out in a heartbeat. He was stated by Zoro to be a strong oppoent.
Zoro will fight King, there's a reason Hiyori gave Zoro Enma (Oden's heirloom) and tamed it, Zoro also has great control over Busho Haki as well as he was able to get all that Haki back from the sword.

It did make him weak in mental status and he was using different weapons, not his own. Saying he was still strong, is just ignorance as we all know that wasn't him at his fullest. Smile fucks up his mind badly and thus he fight crazily, not soundly like he used to.

You and I disagree on what Smiles truly do, I do believe he was in a controlled state of mind when he made the decision to go after Hiyori and Toko under direct orders from Orochi even telling Hiyori about improperly addressing the shogun Orochi. I believe it was him at the same level as when he fought Kaido
