Character Discussion Zoro's potential opponents from Wano onward seem to share a similar theme regarding Sanji

How do you think the match-ups will go?

So going by this SBS (nice dig) if Kizaru and Akainu fought it would be even tougher for Akainu (there is no mention though of Akainu being stronger than Kizaru except that Akainu was promoted to Fleet Admiral). Maybe Akainu is more ambitious and Kizaru is lazy and all that and that's why he was not considered for that position like Akainu and Aokiji. So our OG admirals are ranked like Akainu > = Kizaru > Aokiji (since Akainu beat Aokiji and Oda basically says that Akainu and Kizaru are stronger than Aokiji) and if it took Akainu, who does have a very ruthless personality, 10 days to defeat Aokiji and split the island in equal halves than the gap between Akainu and Kizaru is even less almost minuscule.
I think the portrayal from pre TS indicates that Akainu, Kizaru and Aokiji are evenly matched with Akainu having a small edge over Kizaru and Kizaru having a small edge over Aokiji.

I expect Akainu to be stronger when Luffy eventually fights him.

Another parallel that Zoro's opponents share - Sanjibros want them for themselves.
From King onwards with Mihawk as an exception and I guess Gandhi too. :sus:
Can you blame them? Judge's son will never fight against someone with advanced haki, a Conqueror, a God, and that reflects his ability level, why do you think that they spent the last 10 years forcing parallels between Lanji and Rayleigh, Kizaru, Shiryu and Ben Beckmann, all fights for Zoro?
Post automatically merged:

Neither will fight Kizaru. Oda created two admirals built for Zoro and Sanji
Ah the classic if Zoro does something then so does Lanji, since Lanji will never fight a top tier it's Zoro that gets downgraded.:kobeha:

Akainu and Kizaru are also partners I believe
Both are from North Blue and joined the navy together the same year.

In japanese, Kizaru uses a polite/formal speech when talking to his superiors (he's the most polite of the color trio)

-Calls Sengoku "Sengoku-san" センゴク(さん)
-Use formal form ending with -masu (like using modorimasu(戻ります) instead of the plain modoru (戻る)

While his speech when interacting with the current fleet admiral, Akainu is much more casual

-no suffix, just "サカズキ" "Sakazuki"
-plain/casual form (use plain 行こう instead of polite 行きましょう)

While he's much more relaxed than Akainu is, he's totally fine with his view of justice. don't like pirates either.

-said Rayleigh sins as a pirate won't disappear
-state that pirates cannot be trusted

From VC

Basically, even the navy don't work like a pirate crew, Borsalino seems to be the closest to a RHM for Akainu (not surprise he keeps getting interactions with RHM like Beckman, Rayleigh and Marco). And guess who Zoro tend to fight?

SBS Volume 51

D: Are Kizaru and Akainu stronger even than Aokiji? P.N. Osumansan
O: Hahh, hahh... Sorry for the late introduction. Hello. I'm the author, who got his Balls Flattened by a Reader... you can call me Balltender. But who cares! Here's a question...YIKES!! What the hell is THIS?! Kizaru?! Get outta here! I'm gonna have nightmares! Sorry P.N. Osumansan, Kizaru's already appeared! He'll show up in the next volume. Actually, you're not that far off, though.

The Pre-TS Admirals order was Sakazuki > Borsalino > Kuzan. Reflected in their Marineford matchups with Whitebeard > Marco > Jozu.

- Has been matched with Marco, Rayleigh and Benn Beckman. What do they all share in common? Being the RHM of a crew.
- Has unresolved conflict with Zoro from Sabaody Archipelago.
- Is Fleet Admiral Sakazuki's strongest man just like how Zoro is Luffy's strongest man. (read above).

Besides, what is even the argument for Sanji vs Borsalino? "Speed and Kicks"?

The only time Borsalino ever used kicks was against fodders and small fry who didn't matter. The only time he was matched up against a top tier in a serious duel (vs the Dark King), he used a sword. He has a named sword called "Ame no Murakumo", named after one of the sacred imperial regalias of Japan.

There's more going for Zoro vs Borsalino narratively than Sanji vs Borsalino.
Just to add to that, as stated in thread, Kizaru has interacted with RHMs for most parts. Humiliated Zoro, fought Rayleigh, faced off Marco, had an exchange with Benn. All First Mates. It's pretty obvious at this point.

A ten day fight that evenly split an island clean in half is the closest thing to an even fight we’ve had since dorry and broggy.
Uh, but what does it have to do with Sakazuki>Borsalino>Kuzan? It just mean that there can be 3 people with same strength with only a minuscule advantage over the other. Aokiji is implied to lost a leg if we include the movie, which means if Sakazuki and Borsalino fought, they can also have a ten day fights but Borsalino won't be perma injured or both him and Akainu injured. These are all still in the realm of reasonable.
