so oda wanted to draw a cover page abt zoro in ch 1031
These were his initial drafts , it might spoil us abt zoro's future

it consists of these characters
- mihawk
- ryuma
- shanks
- venusjuro
- oden
- fujitora
- shiryu
- ushimaru

u will see that a lot of characters are connected to zoro's story here
- mihawk is his main goal
- ryuma and ushimaru are his ancestors
- gandhi is very likely his future WG opponent , who he has alrdy clashed with in egghead ( not at the time of this cover page tho)
- oden is connected through enma and scarring kaido
- shiryu is his opponent against blackbeard

the ones i left out are
- shanks
- fujitora

now obviously both of them are swordsmen
shanks represents the yonkos while fujitora is an admiral

but is that enough for these guys to be in zoro's sword story ?

The databook states Mihawk is waiting for a swordsman stronger than Shanks. I believe Shanks connection is he will push Zoro's haki to joy boy level.

I won't be surprised if Shanks has Reaction like Mihawk had when he saw Luffy.

Mihawk went to Shanks because he founf luffy , luffying around. And realized that's the kid shanks was talking about.

And no fuckin way , Mihawk didn't tell shanks about the guy he has hypes for , shanks might check out what zoro is capable of maybe a small clash to see his "Swordsmanship"
