STRIVE TO SURPASS ME!!!!! not shanks not s hawk not the bald damn gorosei not fuji,gb,etc i could go on and on
None of them were there. Who guarantees Mihawk isn't saying that for every swordsmen with potential he finds on his way? Maybe he told that to Shanks too and got disappointed when he lost an arm to a fucking fish(not even Kaido).

2. Zoro admits he wants to get stronger, and that he beat the monkeys the only one left to take down is mihawk...he even says i'm not stupid enough to think i can beat you yet. (this is why i believe zoro after training with mihawk thought he was strong enough to bring him down...stupid thinking from him to which he lost a eye by mihawk we know the monkeys are not strong enough for post training zoro,we know perona could not do it ,and we know that no sword is gonna float up and purposefully cut zoro eye).
That's very headcannon assumption to do. Does Luffy thought he was strong enough to beat Rayleigh after the 2 year trainning? Or the 1,5 year that Rayleigh stood there (which makes no fucking sense for Rayleigh to leave since he could have teach advanced haki unless he was afraid he would lose his golden pussy). Did Franky thought he was smarter than Vegapunk? Sanji thought he could beat Ivankov? Robin thought she could beat... Idk... Koala? The Karate guy? Sabo? Dragon?

I can admit that until that moment of course there was a desire of Zoro to beat Mihawk and they saw each other as enemies. But the moment Mihawk decided to train him this was the first step to change their relationship forever. And after 2 years they could never be the same as before. Can you believe calling someone an enemy after that person teach you something very important to your life, give you food, healed your wounds, give you a roof over your head so you can sleep? Unless they had a huge argument or stuff that broke all that kindness relationship they build up in 2 years there is no reason to believe Zoro would ever raise his sword against Mihawk ever again.

Same shit with Luffy. He will never fight Shanks for real.

Edit: You say i do not understand zoro but i think you do not understand how much promises mean to zoro, and mihawks own promise of staying and standing at the top means for the story of one piece.
And how much promises Zoro already unfullfilled? He already lost as his promised. He didn't recruited a fucking samurai. That's just from the top of my head.

1. They do not have to be there Mihawk is the wss, stronger than every other swordsman in the verse in name and reality he is the wss so much so that one armed shanks is considered to be a has been by himself (the literal definition of a has been is outdated).

2. Why are you thinking that all the strawhats think like zoro and wanted to surpass each master in strength? Luffy never wanted to surpass Rayleigh in two years he was content with learning the basics of haki as Rayleigh himself said he would teach him in about two years. Sure ray could have stayed and taught him adv haki I agree with you but oda had Ray establish that in battle that’s where haki blooms at and that’s the course oda has luffy follow. Sanji on the other hand was in a battle but nothing in the manga supports him wanting to be stronger than Iva… Iva set the standard 99 recipes sanji needed to steal them the assumption is he beat all 99 in battle but we don’t know as Iva called them masters of new Kama karate. We know sanji succeeded because him getting a bit back to sabody depended on him beating all 99 not 99+ Iva San. Zoro is different from either of these two he states upon talking to Mihawk that he was not ready to fight him yet, that he needed training from him to surpass him, that he had already beat the monkeys on the island. The only thing left was Mihawk, and we know persona came later thanks to kuma. Unless u can show proof it’s not logical what so ever to think that 1.persona did it, 2.zoro self inflicted it, 3. One of his blades turned on him and did it. The only logical thought is that after training with Mihawk Zoro wanted to test and see the gap between the two, and stupidly since he did not recognize that Mihawk was still the superior fighter Zoro lost his eye.

2. continued- yes I do believe they can still have a serious fight because the manga establishes these points as they are conversing. Zoro establishes that even with training his goal is still to surpass Mihawk , Mihawk himself establishes that even though he is training Zoro he understands that Zoro wants to take his head. At the end of the day you can headcannon any type of scenario you want to try and make it not happen but the oath, the words that had luffy sweating, the promise between the wss to remain at the top and wait for zoro the battle for the future wss spot will happen it’s set in stone and again the future pirate king will see it.

3. I’ll give u that he did not recruit the samurai but if u think that is the same kinda promise that was made in front of the future pk and wss then there’s nothing that I can say that would change ur mind imo. Personally I still think the moment will happen but it’s headcannon and speculation until it happens otherwise.

4. https://web.archive.org/web/2010031...gascreener.com/stephen/onepiece/onepiece.html

sorry, click on volume 6 the oath u can see the chapter there. Mihawk says he will wait years for zoro if need be for him to surpass him (MIHAWK NO ONE ELSE) Zoro says he won’t lose until the day I defeat HIM (MIHAWK NO ONE ELSE). Sure me and you can sit here and argue schematics about what constitutes a loss for Zoro but at the end of the day the author doesn’t feel like Zoro has broken any promise what so ever so why should I or u for that matter say it has been broke?

I mean none of them were there when Mihawk told that he wanted Zoro to surpass him. This is what I mean. He probably wants anyone/all of them to surpass him since he can't find a challenge anymore.

I don’t think Mihawk would say those words to anyone else because no one would show zoro spirit and drive and will like he did in this moment.

Mihawk: YES.
THAT WOULD BE DEFEAT.

Zoro: Hehe... Exactly why I can't step back.

Mihawk: Even if you die?

Zoro: I would WELCOME death.

Mihawk: {What strong resolution...!!!
He will take death over defeat.}
Boy... Tell me your name.

- Page 140 -

Zoro: Roronoa Zoro.

Mihawk: I will remember it.
I have not seen such "strength" in some time.
And with the courtesy of the swordsman,
I will sink you with my ebony blade, the strongest in the world.

Not sure about it. King seems to have the same resolution as Zoro.

Not going to knock the theory but it's highly unlikely. Zoro v mihawk is one of the oldest hyped fights in the series. This fight has to happen especially since oda doesn't ever let mihawk go all out.

how so? What resolution did king show? What would king do that would show that same resolve as east blue zoro to which Mihawk would then say those words to king?
Dude. Oda portraited King exactly like he did Zoro.

Both their captains saved him when they were arrested.

They both sweared that they wouldn't lost until they made their captains achieve their dreams.

They are both the most loyal crew member to their captain.

Oda aint that stupid. He knows that there are millions of his readers out there waiting for this fight to happen.

It could end up as a mid or even trash fight but its one of the most if not the most anticipated fight in the history of manga.

But what did king do that zoro has not done when it comes to there resolutions?

I don't understand why this fight can't happen.
You said it yourself, Zoro is an honorable dude. He honours his promises until the end.

So even though Mihawk gave him training and a house for 2 years, Zoro will fulfill his promise to fight Mihawk once again.

Moreover, it's not only Zoro who is waiting for this fight, Mihawk too.
Mihawk trained Zoro also for grooming him to become his best opponent.

So Zoro and Mihawk are waiting for this fight : Zoro in order to become the WSS and Mihawk who wants the best fight of his life.

would be shit, but i dont see it as impossible.

Pehaps WG use the Seraphin to destroy CG as a way to hype them as stronger than the former Warlords

Oof. Well consider Zoro's character all but a waste of thought as Mihawk WILL NOT be Zoro's final fight.
What else can i say?
Zoro doesn't contribute to the plot, its been clear since post-ts.
And if Mihawk is not his final fight to mark it as an end of his lifelong dream, then what was the point of zoro's existence as character?
At that point he would just be waste of panel space

Sure. Zoro at this point is pretty pointless as a character, which only strengthens why Zoro vs Mihawk won't be the last fight. I'm certain it'll be Nusjuro.
