Without a doubt, one of the most brilliant endings in history. The director literally kills the audience's experience in the series.(Tony died)

Okay I read akame ga kill manga version because of Esdeath. The plot is okay but I enjoy Esdeath as character. Even manga state it took 1 million men to exhausted her, her mistake leave opening for akame, she doesn't cry or anything pathetic saying but lived to her death which she froze herself as her death.

I realize most fiction characters are not like one piece endurance where characters can shurg off their heavy wounds as usually. Getting stabbed to chest is Tuesday at one piece unlike which it would kill DBZ or superheroes. Even Doflalmingo has better endurance fears than planetsry busters or higher due they can't handle if they got organ ruined or destoryed.
