Currently, Usopp is only a low tier. However, we know at some people he must become at least slightly stronger than his father, Yasopp, so this begs the question of how strong is Yasopp. Well, it’s heavily implied that Yasopp is one of Shanks’ top 3 commanders, along with Roo and Beckman We know that Beckman is Shanks’ strongest commander, so Yasopp is either the 2nd or 3rd strongest commander. Let’s just assume that Yasopp is the 3rd strongest, which would put him at minimum at YC3 level, but maybe higher due to it being implied that Shanks has a higher quality crew to make up for his lack of an army. So if Usopp is currently a low tier in the middle of Wano, then won’t he have to get stronger in a fairly short amount of time in order to surpass his father? Luffy is obviously gonna meet Shanks again before he fight BB for the title of PK on Laugh Tale, and logically this would be when Usopp meets Yasopp and proves himself to be stronger, so Usopp can’t wait til the Laugh Tale arc to reach Yasopp level. Based on Oda saying that he plans for One Piece to end in 5 years are the start of the Wano arc, then this suggests that there should really only be 1 major arc after Wano and before Laugh Tale, with that island obviously being Elbaf. We already know that Usopp has an admiration for the giants, and he will likely get special treatment during the Elbaf arc, especially because it is his dream to become a brave warrior, which is basically what the giants represent. So imo I think it is very likely that Usopp will achieve his dream of becoming a “brave warrior of the sea” by the end of Elbaf, and he will prove himself by showing that he is superior to Yasopp, just like how Luffy will prove that he is a great pirate to Shanks by showing that he has surpassed Shanks. So if Usopp is poised to be YC3 level at least by the end of Elbaf, how strong should be be by the end of Wano? Imo Usopp should get a power up in Wano (maybe CoA or improving his CoO) and prove himself to be low Vet level by beating Page One, the weakest Flying Six.
