Has Zoro just unlocked black fire instead of Sanji?

It’s a new visual effect as far as I remember. There’s curling bits of it that remind me of CoA, especially the CoA we’ve seen around Luffy in G4 and Big Mom when she clashed with Luffy at the Tea Party. They have a more regukar pattern though, it looks planned, like Tattos’s, whereas Zoro’s looks almost like mist flowing around his sword. That might be because Luffy and BM were on skin, while Zoro is leaking out.

It’s not the same as what Roger and Whitebeard did. Their Haki was jet black, jagged instead of flowing and, most importantly, I’m 99% certain was actually CoC, not CoA. What they did was very much like a souped up version of the CoC clashes we’ve seen from Luffy vs Doflamingo and Luffy vs Katakuri, and it would make more sense for Oda to hype our first ever view of Roger vs Whitebeard as a CoC clash than a CoA one.

If it is possible for Haki to be put into flames, I think that’s what we’ve seen. Fire from Hiryu Kaen combined with a CoA overflow. If that’s not possible, I’m more inclined to believe it’s an overflow of Haki, because that’s Enma’s gimmick, and because it‘s just a bit too different to how Oda’s drawn fire before. Fire’s usually drawn with overlapping flames which this doesn’t have.

Why do people think the thing around the blade is haki?
Looks more like flames.
Doesnt matter if enma has fire powers or not.
Sanji started using flames out of nowhere.
Luffy started using flames out of nowhere.
Now Zoro.
Not the end of the world.
Roger's haki looks more like lightning. Very different shape from Zoro's.
Usopp used firebirdstar.
Franky breathes fire.
Almost everybody uses fire at some point.

Of course. It wouldn't be the legendary enma if it didn't and so hard to tam if it didn't. And this is the same exact scene that with Oars back in Thriller bark when he used Shuisui against him. Shuisui indepedently mad that slash more powerful and vn changed the technique not him. And Oars had to dodge.

Lmao the hypocricity of some Sanji fans
Last chapter when Zoro's swords are not black, Sanji fans: But but Zoro was using Haki, Oda just forgot to draw it
This chapter when Zoro's swords are black - Sanji fans: But but it wasn't Haki, it was just flames
Last chapter when Kaidou only saw Oden behind Luffy - Sanji fans: But but only Luffy inherited Oden's will. Zoro didn't have jack shit. Rip ZKK
This chapter when Kaidou felt Oden from Enma, the one sword that Zoro is currently holding - Sanji fans: It's Oden's ghost who's doing all the work. Enma is carrying Zoro's ass
:milaugh:

Next time when Zoro uses all his 3 swords to hurt Kaido or Big mom they will say Zoro was distributing Enma power to his other swords.
This is how the panels looked to haters credits to @Light D Lamperouge for this edit

I've explained it at length:
It's either haki alone or flames imbued with haki:
  • We see Zoro's sword hardened during the attack:
  • It's shaded far too darkly to be fire.
    • This is how Oda draws Zoro's swords on fire:
    • This is how Oda drew Kinemon's sword on fire:
    • Contrast this with how Oda drew the flames adorning Zoro's sword when he prepares Hiryuu Kaen:
  • The flames produced by Hiryuu Kaen are much lighter in colour:
  • While Zoro is preparing the attack, we see ryuo gather around his sword:

While it does look like fire, if has been shaded far too darkly compared to how Oda ordinarily draws fire swords (or draws the flames produced by Hiryuu Kaen), for it to be ordinary fire. I think what we are seeing is fire that has been imbued with overflowing hardening.

Furthermore, Zoro using an absurd amount of haki explains why he was tired after the attack:

To summarise:
  • We see Ryuo gather around Zoro's sword while he prepares his attack
  • The shading is far too dark to be fire.
    • Both fire on swords and the flames of Hiryuu Kaen have consistently been drawn with much lighter shading.
  • Zoro's sword is hardened when he prepares his attack.
  • Zoro was noticeably drained by the attack. This is consistent with the apparent expenditure of stamina that occurred after Zoro's first use of Enma.

I currently think it's fire that has been imbued with overflowing hardening.
