I don't want to go too deep into this and waste time discussing trivial details but the fundamental necessity behind making this fight a team battle is none of them are capable of handling Kaido on their own. Our opinions of what Zoro/Kaido can or cannot do maters not tbh. The fact that Oda took the route of making Zoro and Luffy take on an opponent at the same time which he doesn't normally do should tell you that this is not an opponent they can individually handle. And as I said earlier, Luffy wouldn't need Zoro to beat Kaido if he's already as strong as Garp or Rayleigh. Much of the same goes to Zoro.

Hybrid Kaido (high top tier) > Base Kaido (Mid top tier) > Dragon Kaido (low top tier).

It's not like Luffy/Zoro are fighting exclusively Dragon Kaido. And hell, the Kaido they're fighting has already gone hybrid.

Wani is good arc so far for me. Not amazing but good. The only real gripe I have with it is the Oden's inherited Will/Ryou/Haki shit that's happening all over the place.

Best conclusion was a CP0 summoning a Buster Call and wiping Wano from the face of the planet. That would put a smile on my face.

Zoro is already a stronger fighter than Oden complexively I do think. Now we will see how much Kaido has improved since 20 years ago.

I never hyped Oden too overboardly because I knew he wasn't yonko level.
