He was saying they are not as good as Oden, so he was questioning why people like them are able to cut him. When Luffy damaged Kaido, he saw his potential to become stronger, when the Scabbards damaged Kaido, he viewed it as a fluke, because they are nowhere near Oden's level nor do they have the potential to reach it.

One thing that's a huge questionmark right now: What is Luffy going to do in the final war, when he loses his haki so fast while using G4?

He definitely needs to come up with something, because right now it's just not really practical.

Law is the burden for giving exposition to Kidd rather than teleporting Luffy to where the scabbards are. Luffy put Kaido down for 3 pages and they could do nothing to capitalize on it.

Even when they coateed their swords before attacking with Tostuka...Kaido didn't feel Oden's presence in them
