I don't know it is intentional or not but sometimes wounds won't appear but later they were in bandages (Sengoku after MF war), Kaido after the stab, Luffy after partially hit by thunder bagua etc. But I think Kaido case might be intentional, he might be having peak regeneration abilities....zoans can recover faster afterall...

It's intentional (it gives you the image that the fight was actually more intense). I saw Oda removed the blood from Zoro's face in the latest volume because it didn't make sense for the rest of story.
Also if for Kaido, it's intentional then just defeating him won't be enough, but killing and removing him from the rest of story.

When Luffy went out of Gear 4th against Katakuri he was still able to be on his feet and run but now he’s out to the point of not being able to move like in Dressrosa, so we know now it was bs that he won against Katakuri.

He shouldn't even have went out of Gear Fourth so soon, to begin with.

He entered that mode for things he could have managed without it (the Beasts Pirates ship and the Number), and he was even using King Kong Gun against common objects when training, and now out of the blue he looks even less good at using it against Kaido. I see no reason why Oda wouldn't let Luffy have mastered Gear Fourth as of now, especially considering that he not only had the excuse of the time that passed since Dressrosa but also how ryuo allows you to use the haki you aren't making use of in other parts of your body (even if he's theoretically using "more haki" now in order to hurt Kaido).

I don't understand this writing by Oda, seriously. I'm not enjoying the fight itself and this is one more nail in the coffin.

I think not being able to move at all is an exaggeration.

Oda should portray Luffy able to use his base mode at least or else when will Luffy even master this mode assuming that's feasible.

Luffy in G4 was too much for dragon Kaido to handle 1vs1, it's either nerf G4 so it's not effective against the arc enemy inexplicably or nerf Luffy's time limit until the endgame when all the other fights have finished.

it's fine actually. We need to understand Luffy is using adv.coa/ryou with his attacks now, so he uses more of his haki. Tanking and damaging someone like Katakuri is not really the same hurting and tanking Kaido and BM. I know it's maybe irritating but Luffy will win this and the next g4 will last longer!
I just have issue that Kaido is still fine after all the 5 wg attacks, he should be at least more exhausted and more blood ... but i guess it's pain in the ass for Oda to draw that on every panels.

Anything goes, we can speculate that ending Gear 4 going all out with gatling leaves him more taxed than just flying away and running out of Gear 4, we can say using ryuo is taking an extra toll, the thing is you can't make everyone happy and Gear 4th is a decent compromise for Luffy being able to face top tiers despite his youth.

The thing about chapter to chapter and forum analysis is that if anyone wants to be cynical there will always be an angle, if Luffy was moving around instead of getting helped by Zoro then we would have a thread about how bullshit it is that an exhausted Luffy can still dodge Emperor moves or something.

He can still move now and could move in dressrosa he stated so himself

He can run around in ANY scenario. The point is does he need to rest for energy, like Oda stated.

In Dressrosa and Wano, people were helping him rest. Didn't happen in WCI

nothing ever stated that he NEEDED rest. Gats/zoro was there when he ran out so he decided to let them carry him instead of running himself. yall are overthinking it. luffy stated that he could run away from doffy himself...thats it.

doffy would not have been able to catch luffy with or without gats' help

Its Oda's excuse to nerf Luffy whenever he wants to create fake tension just like Luffy going "allout" to crush Noah without G4, since now he will compensate with Luffy having G567 blowing up the planet just to beat Kaidou lol. I'm not thinking much about this anymore to be honest, Oda will skew any powerscaling concept just to justify his plot of Luffy dramatically winning in the last second of each arc.
