Character Discussion Luffy recruited Zoro because he was strong, And he sought him specifically

Was Zoro recruited in a special manner for a specific reason(strength)?

But why does that alone make him special tho ? Like I said Robin and her group went up against the SHs, and Luffy still allowed her to join. No SH was on the villain side, then was still allowed to join the crew. I dont see why Luffy recruiting a person due to their notoriety makes that recruitment process more special. Each SH recruitment was different in their own way. It's just plain wrong to say Zoro's one was special and the rest was the same. Because the rest was not the same, they were all different.

Meh, Zoro's recruitment was special cause he was the first anyway, like for the others, strength was not paramount (but for sure welcome) otherwise we wouldn't have Usopp etc. He was looking for a strong guyto kickstart his crew but what he added to Coby was that he needed to be a "good guy", if he was a bastard like your average villain he wouldn't have been recruited. Same as every other SH with the difference that when he covered the powerhouse he went for the navigator, cook, carpenter etc. Etc.

I even forgot about ussop.
Luffy knew and sought him too,
Same with Chopper, luffy wanted him badly
No he didnt seek him out what level of head canon is this
Luffy didnt know usopp and didnt want to recruit him he only heard about him from his father and literally forgot about him until he met him, Which happened by chance. What manga are you reading?

Y'all need to do some reread LOL. Luffy recruited Zoro because he is notorious throughout East Blue as a bounty hunter. Nothing about strength. Luffy and Coby seek Zoro out because Luffy believes that Zoro is a "good guy". That's why Zoro's recruitment seems "special" compare to the rest of the Strawhats.

Luffy lived in the most backwater part of East Blue, never reads the news and had only Makino and Dadan for company for the three years that Ace had gone out to sea. For Luffy to actually have known Zoro’s name and whereabouts suggests that Zoro was actually very well known in the region for his strength.

Zoro and Nami are the only two crew mates that Luffy sought out/insisted on having no matter what. Even after Nami betrayed him at Baratie and ran away with Merry, Luffy demanded that they try to recruit her anyway. Anyone who tries to suggest that Luffy, Zoro and Nami are not the triggers and main characters of the series needs to go back and reread East Blue.
What do you mean? Only WCI arc and post WCI count these days...
