Hello Ladies and gentlemen
I am back yet again with another controversial topic that might spark an argument here and there
Today we are going to discuss and debunk the two sayings that Zoro never fights the main villain of an arc ( and do something significant to him ofcourse) and that Zoros opponents are never close to luffy's opponents in power.
And we are going to show this with these four methods:
*Showing panels where Zoro had feats against the main characters of Arcs (1v1 and 2v1 with luffy)
*Showing panels where Zoro had a important fought that stood out from the flow of the story which mainly served his own story line.
*Showing How Some of Zoros opponents scaled against luffy in the rare occasions that luffy fought them
*Comparing how some of zoros and luffys opponents had kept their relevance after they where defeated and the arc ended- This is a portrayal comparison
-With that lets get started>
* Luffy and Zoro 2v1's Morgan in shells town, In which Zoro had the final blow, morgan was the arc's main villain
*Zoro had a fight with mihawk which he lost. But that fight stood out for two reason, His opponent is still one of the strongest in the whole series even though he introduced so early and duo to the fact that his appearance only served Zoros story line.
This fight is also important in portrayal, Because it portrays Zoros goal to be the world strongest swordmen as very important part of the story which needs to be progressed through, Obviously Mihawk is still portrayed as the worlds strongest swordmen in the world and made many important appearances in the story later on.
*Zoro fought hatchan, this is a portrayal feat because along side arlong himself, He kept his relevance later own in the story, Strength wise he wasnt very comparable to arlong. But portryal wise he kept his importance in fishmen island.
*In arabasta arc Zoro fought MR1, Who was portrayed as very strong compared to the other opponents straw hats faced that ARC, Later on after impel down he was able to block a slash from Mihawk. His skills are good enough to be recognized by mihawk, who does not bother to remember the names of every weakling that he crushes.
*Zoro fought Ryumas corpse, Which like Mihawk mainly served the progress to his own story, This happened in thriller park, Futher more, Portrayal wise Ryuma served a more important part than most if not all character who made an appearance that arc. For two reasons: We learned that ryuma is tied to the wano kingdom and his story kept its relevance until today. His sword shusui was a legendary sword which was important in the Wano arc aswell. Which means relevance wise hes more important than alot of characters the straw hats fought. Strength wise we learned that Ryuma was very strong he also had shusui which is a strong sword, Brooks soul also possessed him if we take all of these into consideration we can assume that he was Very strong.
*And the same thriller ARC Zoro fought ors. But that fight was more of a straw hats tag team So its not much relevant. He also had a clash with Kuma which he also lost.
*Luffy thought Hyyozou was strong and that he withstood his attack, This is no coincidence its luffy confirming that hyouzou was stronger than the other fishmen pirates he met so far, This is to highlight hyouzou from the other fishmen pirates. Zoro proceeded to beat overdosed Hyouzou with ease.
* In the same arc Zoro also fought Hody underwater. Zoro didnt fight overdosed Hody. But he fought him underwater without any oxygen source, He also blitz one shot him with ease.
These two panels obviously highlights That Zoro does fight strong opponents and sometimes even the main villain's or arcs which he does fairly good against.
* Luffy almost died to monet, Zoro beat monet by only striking fear into her. This is not because Monet is weak, This is because Zoro is very strong.
If monet was really weak then she wouldnt have been able to almost kill luffy, Luffy had to run from the fight by breaking the floor underneath him. Which allowed him to escape. If he didnt do that he might have died to monet.
*Zoro also fought super novas and beat them, or did fairly good against. Those are not just any opponents, All of them had important portrayal in the story and were recognized as the worst gen and super rookies along side their super nova title. Note that Zoro one shot Apoo once he got serious. And in the fight against killer Zoro was poisoned and starving and missing a sword which is a massive nerf to the three sword grandmaster.
*And Last but not least, Zoro is currently as we speak fighting and doing better than every one on the roof for now next to luffy ( might change later but only speaking about what we know as of now) against two yonkos, Kaido and big mom.
