But some people were ROOTING for sandai to break, despite Zoro's training with blackening his blades was also supposed to stop his swords from breaking.
The disrespect with the own character progression just for the sake of "new better sword" was real.

This Nidai/Shodai/Sandai nonsense shouldn’t have been implemented.. ofc Oda knows what he’s doing but, it should’ve been Shusui Yuba and Wado then swap out Shusui for Enma. This way all three swords become Black Blades on merit. But given this is the train Oda set forth, I’m sure he will get Nidai soon, and swap for Shodai at the last arc regardless. Idk how black blades can be made so quick when it took Ryuma/Mihawk a lifetime to make just one black.

Enma, on the other hand, could be shattered in a million pieces and I would actually congralute zoro and say "at least now you can get a non-Oden tied sword and make this freaking trash ass character fall off to irrelevance. Go get Nidai! Good for you!".
