aokiji does not hold any more of an advantage over jozu that he does not hold against all other people in the verse.

That is actually a misconception bro, Dfs have been consistently shown to equal out other DF's or over power them.. thats why smoker and ace stalemated (2 combatant who primarily depend on their DF) smoke and fire cancel oit eachother... and Ace vs BB.. the properties yami yami no mi has allowed BB to overcome ace's DF who arguably is physically weaker than ace.. so u can obviously deduce that DF perks and how they stack and counter against other DFs do matter... because there is that elemental factor to the DF's...
And the reason why Jozu lost an arm is coz Aokiji froze it... but he can't freeze flames now can he
Then u have the epitome of examples that back my point is Luffy vs katakuri we know the chasm katakuri created between luffyvs expertise with his DF to counter luffy's.. every arsenal luffy had... Katakuri had it too but a dozen steps ahead of luffy.. from gear 3..to gatteling to red hawk.. any and everything.. plus he had his fruit awaken.. so now can still say that

this goes for akainu and Aokiji as well... they both have DFs that can counter and provide effective measures against eachother's attack hence the fight was prolonged and extended alot.. imagine if Aokiji had ace's DF.. which by facts is less hotter than Akainu's.. would the fight still take that long to end... what about buggy's DF.. would Aokiji still prolong the fight like he did..
Aokiji vs akainu is controversial.. its said that it was a pre-planned sham to convince the world that Aokiji is leaving the admirals and even convince BB to recruit him and even BB said that he trust him like he does with Shiryuu his right hand if i'm nit wrong... so if this theory is true... then was the fight an authentic and impeccable way to judge the overall strength of these 2. idk.. but the initial facts remain.. the fight was prolongs turning OH into barren hell and tundra scapes. hope u get my point.
