If it is Oden, it is a bad writing cause it makes everything retainers and Oden himself did pointless if he will just pop out in the future
And The small tension of the arc will die completely.

If it isn't Oden, it is a stupid trick to make Hiyori or Gyukumaru or Kanjuro pull this just to mock or boost their morals.
It will go against Hiyori being a decent daughter who loved her dad

Both options will ruin the arc even more
Whether it is Oden or not, this arc is poorly written still

Those dialogues doesn't seem like it is fake Oden.. especially when Kawamatsu could know if it was the fox.
