I think the attack did have some small amount of CoC in it, which Kaido sensed. Like not on Kaido's and Luffy's black lightning level but some CoC nonetheless. Kaido looking at the scar and talking about CoC can only make sense through this.

Zoro's power was only just discovered so there won't be much of a gap in his next fight.

Zoro with Asura, putting his full strength behind the attack couldn't make Kaido fall to the ground. Luffy in his base with a regular punch imbued with CoC just put him clean on his back.

Being knocked down, blunt force, and cut down are two different things. Kaido was knocked down in 1000 and that's really irrelevant. He was knocked down in 1001 and again, that doesn't really matter. Cut down? Oden did that once and he was virtually beaten.

Luffy could at least manage flattening Kaido on his back with his strength alone, since before Wano even started, even if he couldn't injure him, the attacks were powerful enough to rag doll him. Zoro can't do that even utilizing his full strength and strongest attack, and possibly combining CoC with it.

More seriously I don't know because there is no indication except ashura attack. And honeslty the only one who made a permanent scar to kaido is oden another coc user. So to hurt badly kaido you need adv.coc^^ zoro probably used coc with his ashura without knowing.

If King wants to face Zoro he better do it as Zoro is right now. That might make a suitable match

Kaido would
A) not be that shocked (see his reaction to luffy coc in 923)
B) he would say it first not just when he's attacked


This along with luffy saying coc let's him hit deeper and zoro cutting kaido deep

That's how Zoro's attacks work. He doesn't send people flying outside of flying slash attacks. He didn't move Kaku too. Kaido was wheezing after Zoro's attack which is more than anything anyone besides Oden has accomplished so far.

He send Kaku flying with his Ni Gorilla slash, even with Zolo's strongest attack he didn't even manage to put Kaido down on his knees unlike Oden who made Kaido squirm like a little bitch in pain and down on his knees
