It looks like Big Mom does some big attack and it knocks Kid and Killer back into Onigashima. Hawkins is where they are and attempts to stop them, Killer fights Hawkins and Kid leaves to go find BM.

As said I would like exactly your idea, but given in Oda‘s poor writing and judgement in terms of threat or killing People (LMAO) this will always be our headcanon.

The raid won‘t fail. Luffy will have all the imaginary plot-armor asspulls as much as Oda can desire. Not only Luffy anybody who will play a part in the downfall of Wano‘s antagonists

Oda loves shock value

he will do anything so that the readers won't think the protagonists will lose, that's his style

if Luffy was gonna win Oda would've done the opposite, he would've made Luffy victory seems impossible, but even before the raid Oda showed Luffy confident in his victory, and until now Luffy seems in control, that's how the twist will work and bodies start flying

I think the raid will fail, that's why am saying we're in the build up phase

and Kaido will take many lives this arc

there's actually mountains of evidence that Kaido and BM joined by Shiki will come close to conquering the world

this is where the plot of the series is heading

The problem with this is Kaidou could have literally killed Scabbards up in the roof but he decided to spare them. He knows he can’t break their will. Hence he can’t make them join him which circles down to the fact that well Oda can’t kill off characters. I doubt Kaidou will take many lives as you said at least the prominent ones.

Mr morj think the raid will fail because the build up seems off, and the arc seems different than past OP arcs

he's not completely wrong, but that's not enough to suggest that it will fail, the raid will fail because basically there's many plot elements and mysteries that wouldn't make sense only if the raid fail and some twists happen
