Akainu is just a pissed off guy that doesn't have any personal quirks to distinguish him as a character. If Oda likes a character he gives them quirks or funny traits. Even Diamante has a quirk but not Akainu :)

Smoker always rings a doorbell when there is one around, so as to always lose the element of surpris. He can't help it, that's his quirk and Oda likes it that way. Smoker will in the future have his funny moments where he will do this again. That's what makes a funny story. Oda employs gags.

Vergo has 2 quirks to make him special. Realise that he wasted 2 funny quirks on a character you dumbasses think is dead, means he can't use them again on any other character. (and btw Vergo likes to play with his victims in fighting like he did Sanji, so make that 3 quirks, but certain segments of this forum that are subhumans like the leftleg bois are failing in their understanding to see the very obvious :cheers:)

Anyway, that's all that I wanted to say. Personal quirks is important, as, if Oda really likes a character he gives them some personal distinction. Akainu doesn't have any while Vergo has 3 :endthis::suresure::steef:

Akainu's quirk is that he's too real.

Even pre time skip Sengoku had funny moments with Garp and his goat, but Akainu just has no chill. It's one of the reasons he's so terrifying among the marines.

Acaciatre-Inu has lots of detail :

> He represents an ideology : Absolute and boundless justice
> He has tatoo
> He has a Bonsaï Passion
> He is themed red and dog
> He is themed anger, and lava
> He probably has some tragic backstory
> We see him getting 3 different grades ( Vice-Admira, Admiral and Fleet Admiral and maybe soon he will take Kong place ? )

In Diamante's case he likes attention and great spectacles, we all know from his showmanship, yet he also doesn't want to appear too vain so everytime someone flatters him in any way, he always argues back to seemingoy insist on downplaying himself just so that the person flattering him will keep going with the flattery, Diamante keeps trying to argue back and minimise himself just so he can keep hearing the flattery, and once the flatterer gives in, only then does he "accept" the flattery by making it out as if what they were saying is just an objective unbiased fact alll along. It's a funny case of false humility, the guy is the most brash guy full of pride so it's a fitting gag of his

In Vergo's case he has food on him and false memory. Those are two quite disarming traits for a very stern and gravely dangerous guy like Vergo who strikes fear into his enemies. He also likes to play with his opponents which is not so much a quirk as much as it is a funny personality trait of his. Of course all this combined makes for a nice overall character. Any man of culture appreciates a nice leg switch and trolling performed by Vergo, while children and other less esteemed people like @JazzMazz thinks Pica's baby voice is a really funny thing lol.

2. He doesnt need to suck Celestial Dragon dick. He has a marine base thats in the thick and heat of the New world. He has 6 officers (6 warships) under his command. Garp refused the admiral position but was only a vice admiral under Marine HQ nonetheless. Vergo has more authority, freedom and presuambly even influence than Garp, otherwise Doffy would push for him to be a Vice Admiral in Marine HQ. Vergo has the biggest marine base outside of Marine HQ under his direct command (inb4, its all in the past so its HAD)

3. That seems to be the way things are gonna shape up. Sabo needs rescue too as well as the other DD family members. Doffy still has reckoning with the WG.

It's about pointing out the obvious, which (1) Smoker > Akainu , (2) Vergo is one of the most distinguished characters in this series and (3) Akainu doesnt have any quirk as of yet other than being "too real" @Weeman
