Ulti will still fight Nami, be it now or in the future, but she was to strong for her. Oda found a (necessary) way to nerf Ulti enough so that Nami can beat her. I mean, c'mon, SHs are SHs but Nami defeating one of the F6 while fresh would've been an asspul. F6 are underrated but they are still the 'special force' of the Beast Pirates, their point man is Drake, one of the SNs...

Sanji isn't weak. Page One is just very strong

I didn't say Sanji is weak. He very clearly dominated him. Some people were claiming that Sanji not being able to KO him with shooting star (he was KO'd, he just recovered fast) in the anime as an L against him. If Big Mom, the world's strongest, cannot KO PageOne, Ulti, or Queen, then as far as we know the Beast Pirates are busted beyond belief.

And to be fair, PageOne has taken a lot of damage. He keeps getting up but he was already exhausted last chapter. Ulti has taken a few finishing moves from Nami, Gear 3, Thunder Bagua. Pls just let her die. Else Zoro + Sanji can just whip out Hell Memories and Asura and clean them up because clearly Nami and Ussop ain't doing shit.

Luffy looks much better if this translation is right. So he managed to fight Kaido on a 1 on 1 for 24minutes+, only losing due to running out of haki

Furthermore, it seems like he didn't completely fall down yet, so it might just be a fake hype / suspence with Luffy coming back somehow

I would rather want Kaido defeat him than losing haki....none in the whole one piece shown losing haki after fighting 20+ minutes other than Luffy.....A man with immense will power will lose haki in mere 25 minutes......

once again nami is a navigator.
She is a support character, not a fighter. It's not mandatory to make her power up to get to laughtel.

I think Oda himself is in dilemma for this same reason. He can not suddenly show us ussop defeating P1 or even Luffy defeating Kaido. At the same time we are so close to the final climax that the only villians remaining are super duper strong. If Luffy and co is struggling so much against kaido then how are they supposed to defeat Admirals and Gorosei.
If Zoro/luffy can't fuck up Kaido how can we expect him to defeat Fuzitora/BB/Akainu and that bald gorosei.

Not if it's a Kaido Luffy already defeated, it will only give Luffy more credits and appreciation from WG having Someone like Zoro in the crew. Remember how Urouge and Chinjao(coc user) was impressed by Zoro and then proceeded to give Luffy the credits for managing to have someone Like him in the crew? This is not the first time a vice captain is highly regarded by their name or status.

Rayleigh was called a Legend along with Wb by Garp. Also from Shanks crew Beckman is also considered a threat relative in terms of his own captain. So if Rayleigh from previous PK crew can get such Recognition then why not Zoro from future PK crew (which will surpass Roger's crew) if he created his own Legend in Wano? Think about it.

Eh, this is not how alot of people are framing it. ZKK has been framed with the idea that if Luffy can't keep Kaido down, Zoro will. You can go back and read comments in this very thread about people laughing at Luffy's state and now not only pushing ZKK, but Zoro now taking over the fight with Kaido lol because the narrative has apparently shifted to Luffy defeating Big Mom instead (literally someone just said this in the last 2 pages)

I personally don't have an issue with ZKK. What you are saying sounds nice and all but with the way Oda has written Luffy and Zoro in 1010 and 1012, I dont know if that is what he has in mind.

Well, you do you, man...I’m the kind of cat who wants the characters in a manga to grow and develop at the same rate as their opponents, or at the very least, be able to keep up with their captain/each other without needing some of the dumbest narrative twists of the author’s career to survive things like this, but maybe that’s just me.

Really don't think so. There are at least two villains of the same tier in this arc and potential for another party to arrive (SSG, an admiral, rob lucci and other cp0 agents, anyone). Kidd is not beating big mom, Luffy was set up to fight her even longer ago than kaido and still hasn't had a fight with her.

Luffy will beat mom at the same time Zoro beats Kaido, is a totally reasonable expectation

Considering the entire arc is about Kaido and Luffy solely fighting him since the beginning, im going to massively disagree with this take. Sorry, but that entirely will overshadow Luffy's victory against a Yonko.

I never understood why one piece fans insist so much on having fights and feats for each character. It's literally the only work of fiction where there is this requirement.
Nami and ussop are not innate fighters. They face the most powerful fighters in the new world, there is no shame in losing to the most powerful crew, it's even normal.
Roger and Whitebeard were the most powerful pirates and yet some of their crews members seemed weak. There is always a huge power gap between the captain, the first mate and the weakest members.
Do you really think that with what we saw of izo he could beat ulti or page one for example?

Because fights are the only option left for Straw hats to get some character development. Oda can't write normal interesting conversations and impactful one liners anymore. And especially Nami and Usopp fights are interesting because they beat enemy in an unconventional ways.
