Luffy's AP can be pretty proficient with KKG but on the same route it's extremely unlikely that he can get close destroying him with just one. Zoro stood so unhealthy and still managed to have Kaido spit such a profuse quantity of blood procuring him a deep permanent scar. Had he stood under better conditions, he may have very well also come up with a stronger attack, independently from the intrinsic potency of the very attack itself, also superior.

All that crying and him looking at Nami and Big Mom with pathetic look in his eyes, was cringe. 1 or 2 panels were ok, but it felt more like a Zeus chapter than Kid or Kaido chapter.
It's necessary though. Very clearly he's alive and it's moment we've been expecting ever since she took him. He'll be back and somehow Nami's move will have saved him/made him different.

At least that portion of the story is done, that's how I feel about it. It's like the Tama chapter with the dango or the Hyougoro one, there are things set up by the plot that need to be resolved. If Oda can do it in a chapter while achieving a few other things, I'm usually satisfied by the chapter.
