Hi guys, hope you all doing fine, just a few words for starters. I decided to make this thread because I've seen a lot of people making fun of my boy, and I know some of you are jus doing it to joke or as a response to the banter that weekly happened between fandoms but since nobody wanks my boy, I decided to take charge of that.
Another thing, I will tag some people from tag lists of other thread so if you din't want to get tagged, well, you are on a One Piece forum so deal with it:kayneshrug:

Anyway, Luffy pushed Kaido to high diff, here is why.

First of all, Kaido is in hybrid form which is supposedly the strongest form a zoan df user has for fighting. No need for explanation here, if you've read One Piece you should know that.
Second point, Kaido was attacking with the intention of killing Luffy each time he attacked him, meaning he used all his strength in his attacks in the form he used (dragon, base and hybrid), cases in point

Kaido has been using CoC coating with his attacks which he said only the most powerful people in the verse could do implying it is the pinnacle of strength. Using it means he is fighting seriously.
We have also seen Luffy being able to use it and he was matching hybrid Kaido in his base form. Top tier feat.
We also know he fought Kaido in his base for around 20 to 30 minutes in a 1v1, so that alone indicates that it was not a low diff fight.

Now what happened between Kaido and Luffy, well the off panel says it all, Kaido used his strongest attack, move or form (awakening), and Oda is not ready to show that yet.

To sum it all up, Kaido couldn't defeat Luffy without using his strongest attack, so that sounds like a high diff fight to me. My boy did very well despite what some people are trying to say :kata:
When Luffy will come back, he will have something else up his sleeve and will extreme diff Kaido but that's for anothe rthread where I will explain how.

As usual you are right buddy.....
@Shanal

this is crying

this may not necessarily be crying....of course he could be lamenting and you didn't see tears in Kaido face...that fact that as long as Luffy is alive people will have a faith in him and how that hope can be dangerous....he did a mistake of not killing him and cut off the faith.....even before this Kaido commented something about "D"...the more dangerous situation is, the wider you smile and the wider you smile.......?

Sorry it's a medium difficulty fight, and it may not even be on the upper end of medium difficulty.
  • Kaido is crying due to his disappointment in Luffy.
  • Kaido seems largely fine at the end of the fight.
    • Luffy doesn't seem to have left any lasting damage.

Luffy fought Kaido for the better part of an hour, so in no world is the fight a low diff, but he failed to significantly damage Kaido over the course of that timespan and failed to even impress Kaido.

Kaido says that he made a mistake getting fired up:

I rate Luffy as fairly as his performance warrants (see my claim that Luffy can no diff Jimbe and low diff Doflamingo/Katakuri), so this isn't any form of downplay.

After Chapter 1010, I placed Luffy above Zoro on my tier lists, so this isn't a Zoro agenda either. I even placed him at my mid top tier (the same level as Issho and Base Kaido).

Kaido was disappointed in Luffy. He said he made a mistake getting excited for the battle. This is not a reaction to someone who could push or even match up to you. Luffy is still significantly below Kaido's level.

He was able to hang with Kaido for 30 minutes+ before being defeated, but that's all he was able to do.

@Sentinel, @Hades: how can you vote for high diff?
:kriwhat:

Ofc crying didn't mean literally bawling.

I just meant he actually looked sad that Luffy was so bad. He was sighing and gritting his teeth with hands on his eyes- that's as close to sobbing as you can get without actually showing tears.

But yeah, it's obvious Kaido was disappointed as fuck and straight up said his previous hype regarding Luffy was mistake (which btw includes the D statement and everything), and that Luffy did not live up to standard. Kaido wouldn't be saying all that about a high-diff fight lol

Or maybe Kaido just underestimating....I mean underestimation of Luffy is not new.....of course, I have no proof of Kaido underestimation....just posting out a possibility....you know he should know better than that someone who couldn't even put up a decent fight 2 weeks back can tango him for 30 or so minutes in his base form (no indication that Luffy went even g2 or g3 let alone g4) agaist supposedly strongest hybrid form and has means to injure him like h3 red roc....you know it is not just Luffy that was white eyed many times, Kaido was put down unconscious for some time by Luffy too.... G4 gattling knocked him out for few seconds and Luffy could knock out Kaido for few seconds when he coated his fist with CoC for the first time....even in chapter 923 he knocked out Kaido with G3 elephant gun and gattling...

I think @Luffy is the mc's reasoning ain't that farfetched.

Oda purposely off screened the battle and HOW Kaido defeated him. When Luffy fell outta Onigashima, Kaido was already in his base.
What happened? How did Kaido knock him out again although they dealt equal blows for blows previously in which even Momonosuke told Yamato, Luffy's doing fine for now?
And what exactly did he mean by saying Luffy got a new weapon (Advanced CoC) and got cocky with it?

It is clear that Luffy gets up soon and fights Kaido again, suddenly making that mid diff/high diff fight much more difficult for Kaido... or needs two more rounds until he actually matches that stuff how Kaido defeated him.

He's not shittalking Luffy before fighting him lol... that's underestimation.

He straight up beat and fucked Luffy up and then shittalked about how weak and easy he was to beat up compared to Kaido's own expectations.

This is not understatement. This is just straight up his experience in their battle against us which lasted until Luffy was defeated- so unless you think Luffy didn't go all-out vs Kaido, yeah. This is not underestimating.

I'm not saying Luffy is shit. But he's clearly not strong enough to push Kaido to hard diff given everything.

Kaido is literally crying because Luffy sucks lol.
Kaido is crying not because Luffy 'sucks' but because he failed to beat him even after he is the one who got him this fired up after a while. Being the only guy to make the strongest guy in the verse excited in a while is the furthest from 'sucking' lol.

Kaido was disappointed in Luffy. He said he made a mistake getting excited for the battle. This is not a reaction to someone who could push or even match up to you. Luffy is still significantly below Kaido's level.
Kaido wasn't really disappointed in Luffy because he didn't give him a good fight. He was disappointed because he thought that Luffy will be the one to beat him finally. He got fired up during the fight as Luffy showed that he could potentially beat him but failed by the end. By Kaido's standard, only someone stronger than him is not a disappointment for him as he wants to be beaten and die. Even someone who gives him an extreme diff fight but still loses will be a disappointment for him because he's someone who wants to be beaten in a fight and not just get a good one.

it is too hard to judge the fight as it was off paneled.....what exactly has been transpired....only thing we know was "what" happened but we don't know "how" happened...even Yamato was bit worried when it turned out as 1 vs 1 fight....unless Oda playing with words, there is something special about Kaido on why "1 vs 1, always bet on Kaido" statement...even the world strongest Whitebeard didn't have that kind of statement..anyways, I will wait for Luffy perspective after he wakes up next time.....I mean all we have are Kaido words....

First of all, Luffy only matched ordinary club strikes of Kaido, not his techniques like Thunder Bagua or Rag Naraku.

Kaido told Luffy that he got cocky because he thought he could stand up to Kaido after just learning how to infuse his attacks with Haoshoku.

Kaido was in Base because he had already defeated Luffy and he's falling back down to see. He reverted back to Base because the fight has ended.

I don't think Luffy will fight Kaido again for at least 5 maybe even over 10 chapters.

Kaido wasn't really disappointed in Luffy. He was disappointed because he thought that Luffy will be the one to beat him finally. He got fired up during the fight as Luffy showed that he could potentially beat him but failed by the end. I think this is a half way credible argument. I don't think Kaido will be disappointed after someone pushes him to solid high let alone extreme difficulty TBH.

Kaido wasn't just disappointed in Luffy, he was dismissive; he told Luffy that he became cocky after acquiring a new weapon.

It doesn't seem like Luffy gave Kaido an enjoyable enough fight.

Why was the fight off panel if Kaido just used his regular attacks that Luffy was matching in base?

Like @Sentinel said Momo pointed out he was fine. Something must have happened, Luffy was reacting fine to his first sneak attack from behind so speed and reflexes wasn't the problem.
Kaido used something new, it's as simple as that. When you are forced to use your strongest move after being matched for a while, it's a high diff fight :kayneshrug:

Kaido's disappointment comes from Luffy not being able to ensure that.
Luffy will win the last round 1v1, so it also makes more sense to go from a high diff to an extreme diff fight.
